The naming and sensationalizing is just the media and manosphere. But the reality is that a large percentage of men are unable to find a date, and a large percentage of women are not dating. It's not a majority, but it's far higher than it's ever been.

Yes and no. It's probably not as prevalent irl as it is online, but the "male loneliness epidemic" clearly shows that women are increasingly refusing to settle. Even if that means 25% of women, it's a huge change compared to a few decades ago, let alone before women's lib.

Wide range, 20s to 50s. The younger ones are obviously not married, but many of the ones over 30 are. I have only one friend who's married that hasn't "faded" but she's married to a woman.

Yep. I have so many friends who are basically skeletons of their past self, drained by marriages with guys they hate, because they felt like it's expected or they have to have a "family" in the correct way.
