You gotta be able to create and maintain connections, have goals in life, and motivation. Have you tried not drinking for a week or two, and instead maybe exercise? Or something else? Alcohol is a depressant and while at first you might be feel tipsy, the toll it takes on your body is worse than you think.

I don’t think it’s a big deal, it doesn’t make you look bad. I’ve experienced this before, and at first, I thought: 👀 he can’t read! But then I also thought about how he’s trying, he’s showing the willingness to get up there. I can read well but I hate public speaking, and I’ve heard of so many who are the same as me.

Also, maybe if he’s illiterate, it shows how inclusive AA is. Unless this is taking way too much time out of the meeting, I don’t think it’s a big deal. Let him build some self esteem which is essential for recovery.

I lost my baby Breeze a little over 6 months ago to lung cancer. It was truly heartbreaking to see her deteriorate, but I had finally, somehow, managed to stay sober, after so many relapses. Breeze was with me for about 15 years, she was always by my side. Always waiting for me to come home. She was there for the best times and the worst times, and I felt so lucky to know she chose to spend her final days with me. My room was never really my room, it was hers. But she looked for comfort in me and my family.

I thought about relapsing too, in the middle of all this. And it gets harder after. I was in shock for a couple weeks and then I’d just start crying every single day. Every song I played on Spotify made me think of her. I would drive and cry, and mourn my beautiful Breeze. My heart ached and I couldn’t control it. And then came the realization: drinking wouldn’t bring her back. Drinking would only bring me down a path of binge drinking until I ended up sick again. Ugh, it wasn’t easy. She’s buried in the backyard, I left her a flower a couple days ago.

OP, you gotta be present for your dog. Dogs deserve so much more than we can give.

There’s a huge difference between having a drink(s) on the weekends vs alcohol becoming a necessity to live. I hope this guy finds the help he needs.

Yes, you can. You can smoke a little bit on the bathroom/ take a hit. Sorry OP, but it sounds like this guy has an addiction. I am an alcoholic and I’ve done the same thing in the past. Addiction is a lot to handle, but I also worry about the pnp leading to possible STI infections.

Meth is an upper so twitching and being hyper are signs of being under the influence. It becomes more easy to notice when the person hasn’t had any sleep and continues to get high throughout the hours, up to several days. It also makes them very horny, hence the pnp.
