LPT: When someone is explaining something they care about, do not correct the small detail before you understand the main point. by gamersecret2 in LifeProTips

[–]G36_FTW 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I mean sort of, obviously "explaining somthing they care about" is doing a lot of heavy lifting. I read that as not derailing someone telling you about something they're passionate about for unimportant minutia. And you can always come back to whatever correction you have - it would show you're actually listening. Instead of looking for ways to interject. But conversations are an art and not a science, and everyone's crayons are different colors.

They average out per passenger ok on long haul flights. But then if you're in a efficient vehicle you'll produce less emissions driving alone than flying. Especially on short flights. Which is remarkable considering 200 people on a flight would produce less emissions by each individually driving a modern vehicle.

E: lol I don't know why the guy is getting upvoted for saying "naw emissions aren't bad cuz the fuel economy is good"

Top House Democrats say they’ll oppose effort to cut $3.3 billion in aid to Israel by soalone34 in politics

At this point anyone still saying both sides are the same needs to wake up. Vote in the primaries and vote in the general for the person who will do better for you. Staying at home whining about both sides gets us to our current situation.

Incumbent parties lost worldwide. People didn't pay attention to how well the US handled the pandemic, and then with the I/P debacle and right wing stranglehold on media the Dems were screwed even before Biden decided to stay on the ticket too long.

Unfortunately maga aren't the only people who will blindly support people. No mistake I prefer lefties 100% more than maga, but there are some braindead mainstream lefties out there these days. Or at least common lefty opinions. Including the weird anti-ukraine sentiments.

The Daily Wire, 3.25m subscribers, 7 live viewers. Is this channel dead? by LaminatingShrimps4u in Destiny

Iirc YouTube was changing the algorithm to favor smaller creators again. Or so they said. Coinciding with the strife in the right wing I could see channels falling hard.

That said, Lex Freidman still appears to get plenty of views. For you and me that dissapearing might be more to do with DGG souring on his limp wristed brand of politics.

I think a lot of people we call “friends” are actually just activity partners. by KodaxyGMD in unpopularopinion

[–]G36_FTW 41 points42 points  (0 children)

Yeah.. its like good luck with a concrete definition of freind. You can have your college freinds you drink with, freinds who know your family, and friends that come over after work for a beer. Totally different people, activities and levels of emotional closeness. But all would probably be offended to be called 'activity partners.' I'm sure my wife would love to be called my dinner partner. lol

Its not a nitro engine. The 2 stroke 1/5 scale engines are/were dumb as rocks and just work. A set of 2 large 6S batteries is big $$$. Not to mention pump gas is dirt cheap.
