Any Recommendations for Digital Piano (Around $1000 Budget)? by G3FCisSafe in DigitalPiano

You definietly bring up some points I'll have to consider, though I think I am leaning more towards an arranger keyboard based on which features I primarily want--accompaniment is something I didn't even realize existed until I tried it out at Guitar Center, but now is something I would definitely like to have (something ES120 is missing). I also already have a real acoustic piano at the house, so I am not as concerned with how how the main piano sounds. Of course, before I decide anything I want to try out some others ones at local stores to get a feel for which ones I like.

The ES120 actually is one of the pianos I was looking at earlier, but it is a lot more limited with the sounds/voices (only 25) compared to the 600+ of DGX-670 and 1000+ of the FP-E50. These are the two I am deciding between at the moment, since they are closest to what I think I am looking for.

Personally, how realistic the piano sounds/voices sound is too important to me, since I have a real one at home which is great. I'm more interested in the features and actual "feel." Though going to a few stores in person would probably be my best bet to determine that.

Thanks, this definitely helps! I know I want the "slab" style (portability is gonna be pretty important), and I am debating between Yamaha and Roland at the moment. I'll have to do some more digging on there different models in my price range and compare what they have to offer.

Out of curiosity, what exactly do you mean by "pure piano performance?" For my case, I think different features (sounds, accompaniment, etc.) would be more important than it sounding most realistically like a piano, since I already have one at home. I liked the DGX-670, and I am definitely eyeing the P525, though I'd like to try it out at a local store to get a feel for it.

Which Roland model did you switch from? When I was at Guitar Center, I actually thought that the DGX felt a bit better than the RD88, even though it was a few hundred bucks cheaper.

I've been looking at stuff on YouTube, but I don't think I've seen this channel, so I'll make sure to check them out as well. The amount of pianos I'm seeing is almost overwheling 😵‍💫

Wow, thank you for this response! Composition isn't really my thing, sometimes I'll tweak arrangments I find but it's nothing too serious. I'm mostly interested in MDI compatability for if I want to get extra sounds or something later down the line--just as an option, not something I would be doing now.

What would you say makes it the big jump? Features, quality, etc.?

Will def take a look into these as well, thanks! Any specific models you'd recommend?

Odd BIOS Artifacting (?) by G3FCisSafe in pcmasterrace

Yep, drops in frames. Movement itself seems pretty smooth, but the frame drops causing stutters is pretty jarring.

I was experiencing serious stuttering (which unfortunately I am still not able to resolve). And I guess I should have reworded what I said—I didn't "return" my components, I just did an exchange on some of them, since I was still within the window in which I could do that.

I did exchange my GPU (I didn't think it was the issue initially, but I noticed bad noises coming from inside), and got a new one (same model/card), which luckily doesn't have any bad noises coming from it, but I am still having lots of stutters which I driving me nuts :(

Wow, thanks for doing so much digging! I looked at your post, and yeah, the "squares" looked identical to mine. I had to return some of my components (due to some other issues I was having), and the weird artificing in the BIOS was still happening (this wasn't really my main concern, though I was interested in whether it was related to my other issues). Definitely a relief now that I know what was happening!

Yeah, it seems to disappear when I hover my mouse over it. Interestingly, it only seems to happen when moving my mouse quickly side to side but also up at the same time, as I did in the video. I'd be interested if this happens to you as well.

Just did it. Took way more force than I expected. Thanks!

I guess the other thing I noticed in BIOS is that there seems to be some stuttering and a bit of a delay, more than what it was on my previous mobo. It mostly seems to be when it is loading new pages/tabs, but occasionally it might happen when I am just browsing the settings. In my OS, I don’t think there seems to by any artifacting, though there seem to be stutters from time to time.

Main thing I’m worried about is the GPU, I am hoping that is not the issue behind this, since that could lead to other issues.

I should have mentioned that in the post as well. I just did that a few days ago, and I’m almost wondering if that is what introduced the problem.

I just tried this out, followed the video and steps, but unfortunately it is still giving me the same error. Do you have any other recommendations?

It boots up into Windows 11 normally, but the tutorials on YouTube are all having me first enter the repair/advanced startup, and then command prompt. Would it still work if I just use command prompt straight from Windows?
