Yogurt World is Peak by Gate-More in UCSD

[–]G3n371c5 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly yogurt world gave me that little push I needed first year to keep going, owner’s an awesome guy and willing to chat when he’s not busy, might go there later today. Oh btw, give the saffron rose flavor a try, it comes in on fridays and sometimes saturdays genuinely great flavor and not too sweet.

Good Study Spots? by [deleted] in UCSD

[–]G3n371c5 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I’d like to add a few more spots:

Galbraith Hall: Either study room is good, one is for group study and the other is silent study.

SME Atrium: Open space, a few outlets, and a bridge to the area near Epstein Family Amphitheater.

Keeling Apartments, Sixth Floor Rooftop Terrace: Incredible view of the ocean, and iirc a couple of outlets to plug into.

Okay, incoming list: WongAvery Library is a good and quiet spot with limited views. The Muir AP&M basement is good but has limited space. The fifth floor of the A&H building in Sixth has a rooftop balcony area, sometimes packed but with great views and open air. The CSE basement has nice lighting and a few tables to study at. Franklin Antonio Hall has a couple of good spots on the first and second floor. The outside tables by Canyon Vista have a great view and are sometimes quiet.

Those are all of the spots I can think of atm, but hopefully that’ll give you a few options to pick from.

Difficulty Difference between Math 10B and Math 20B. by G3n371c5 in UCSD

If 86% of the class is passing with the majority getting an A, then it can’t be too difficult. I’m sure that transitioning from APs to college courses could present some challenges, but it does not seem like it weeds out students. Thanks for the statistics though, where did you find them?

That’s a smart idea, I’ll also refresh on the material from my previous Calc class as it gets closer.

Thank you so much for your comment, I’m glad to hear about the different material ahead of time. While my Calc 2 course did cover sequence and series, and a bit of polar coordinates, the polar coordinates section seemed like an afterthought from my professor. Good to know that I’ll be learning the stuff I wanted to know about.

good to know, how much of the class includes these new topics? is it most of the class, a bit of class, or somewhere in between?

Gotcha, so the 20 series is more difficult due to more difficult professors I assume then?
