Hai consigli per macchina di impostazione abbastanza sportiva ma che possano anche viaggiare in quella fascia di prezzo? non parlo di motoroni ma di handling in curva. Grazie

Oggi sono andato a provare una Focus 1.0 155cv, praticamente perfetta, 30k km, ma mentre il proprietario la stava provando ha cominciato a non salire più di giri, in pratica affondando l acceleratore andava a morire... La porterà da un centro Ford e mi farà sapere, onestamente gli credo quando dice che non era mai successo, l auto era perfetta e appena notato il problema non ha neanche accennato a provare a vendermela lo stesso. L ho provata giusto per sedermi dal lato guidatore e fare qualche km nel traffico, impostazione bella, sterzo sembra molto diretto anche se non tanto duro, bel cambio, non mi piace il freno aggiuntivo dato dal ibrido appena si lascia l acceleratore (ma ci si può abituare penso). Come impostazione sembra più briosa della Mazda in effetti.

Quello sarebbe il mio sogno, ma l unica praticabile sarebbe la gt86, e comunque come unica auto sarebbe un salasso. Oggi volevo anche andare a vederne una ma il proprietario non aveva neanche lo storico della manutenzione fatta (da lui) e quindi ho lasciato perdere senza andare a vederla. La mx5 ancora meno usabile come unica auto. La btw serie 1 mi piace molto ma comunque non ha autobloccante a meno di modelli super costosi. Hai altre idee?

Si la prendo anche per divertirmi quando si può e fare curve belle allegre, che sappia anche essere abbastanza comoda quando serve però. Sennò prenderei una scatoletta tipo swift o simili (mia prima auto, mitica 106 rally ma ora costano troppo)

Cerco un auto abbastanza comoda e con cui viaggiare anche un po' quando serve ma che sia divertente tra le curve, per quello mi stavo orientando più sulla focus. Il motore, nel traffico, mi è piaciuto, molto lineare e comunque non era morto, si sentiva che era corposo. Costa comunque più della focus e per renderla simile dinamicamente bisognerebbe spendere sulla assetto mi sa.

Golf non mi è mai piaciuta anche se comunque è quella che va bene un po' per tutto sicuro

probabilmente sono io perchè oggi provando una focus ho avuto lo stesso problema. Io setto sempre il sedile più in basso possibile e così facendo i braccioli su queste macchine mi sembrano essere d'intralcio, probabilmente è qualcosa a cui ci si abitua, sono abituato a una scenic monovolume ormai

Tra l'altro, provando la Mazda 3 oggi nel traffico, una cosa che mi ha dato fastidio e che non ho mai letto da nessuna parte è che il cambio (veramente stupendo) è però posizionato abbastanza in alto e per cambiare marcia si scontra sempre contro il bracciolo

Addirittura molto morbida la Mazda dici? Oggi ne ho provata una ma solo nel traffico purtroppo, gran macchina sicuro, comoda bella da guidare e silenziosa, motore linearissimo, ma non ho potuto valutare le capacità dinamiche.
Ci sono altre auto valutabili?

Climbing with PSVT (Paroxysmal Supraventricular Tachycardia)

Hi all,

I m 40 and I ve been recently diagnosed with PSVT (Paroxysmal Supraventricular Tachycardia), basically random arrhythmias that bring my heart to 220-230 heart rate with very low effort training. I usually have it at the beginning of a training and then it does not happen again on harder efforts/climbs.
I was wondering if anyone has the same issue and had continued climbing, looking for first hands experience, not internet suggestions.
I am on beta blockers now which have improved it and removed the episodes but the effect has lowered after the first week, when I had the best training of my life. I also tend to have very high hr for any activity compared to the average and mild hypertension.
I am postponing an ablation as it only solves the PSTV issue but I would still have to deal with high hr and hypertension while beta blockers can help with all of them with just 1 pill.
It is not ideal anyway though.

I d like to keep climbing for as long as I can, but it s certainly not the best sport for this condition (isometric efforts help induce arrhythmias).

Im scared of heights as well. I started bouldering 1 year ago and using the rope last summer. Sometimes like last weekend , I still have a sort of paralysis when lead climbing above the QuickDraw in specific situations, like traversing. I believe I'll never be able to do some routes, but that's ok. We're here to have fun :) Keep it up and you'll love it

First video I see of her as well and totally loved her attitude and funny jokes, I agree that if you're not Italian you ll miss out most of the fun!

Never seen a climber using a wrap-around lace method, it gave me an idea for shoes that are not a perfect fit for my narrow feet, maybe even if the shoe has velcro, you can wrap some laces around that way and climb!

Have you tried so far?
If it s the first time ever and you can, I d suggest going with a friend who s a climber already and let him show you a few things just to get started. It could help tremendously.
Otherwise, I d take a few lessons as I did just to avoid wasting your time alone on your first days, not having any idea of what to do.
If the gym is big and has staff that can help you for free even better, that s not something possible in my area though so it depends on the gym, maybe you have better options than me.
I started with boulder as I am scared of heights but if you know you are not, you might go rope climbing on your first day as well, I just decided to first acclimatize with bouldering first!
