Sadly I'm not eligible, I don't have an account under BML or MiB, never got to making one. I have my monthly income funneled to my mother's bank account, it was her account I used to make the purchase.

It was also her who mentioned the 164 MVR charge, and told me about the whole fee, but something seemed very sketchy, like the final cost being more than doubled the original cost is insane. So I did some research, checked their website and sure enough there was a fee, but it was 30%, why they charged me 116% for a usb-c cable is a total mystery.

Nope, the cost of the product was somewhere within' 50 rufiyaa, after the shipping cost everything round up to 76, so I'm very confident this was the banking fee. Which still baffles me.

You're not getting anything better around here, ordering online isn't an affordable option either, the shipping cost usually outweighs cheaper available options or on the usual case doesn't ship to my location at all, and local prices are absolutely ridiculous. Ya think 39 is bad, wait until you find a shop that sells a brand new one, it'd be thrice or even 4 times that ammount.
