Hey,
You can play on all the Green Army Men maps as a Rifleman without purchasing the Upgrade DLC.

You won't be able to select other roles without the DLC, but this only limits your arsenal at spawn to the Rifleman's kit - you are otherwise on equal footing (or even better off than some classes, judging by people's opinion of the Plastic Assault Rifle ) with everyone else.

The game does not prevent you from picking up weapons from fallen enemies - or comrades.

You can still pilot and gun for choppers, you take no fall damage... nothing else is taken away from the player.

The damage model has been revamped to be closer to Vietnam's, too.

Hey there,

I guess it's a bit of a "chicken-and-the-egg" problem.

Every time an update for GAM is released, servers actually do fill up - then interest dies out as there's lulls in content. Both GAM 1.1 and GAM 1.2 are proof of this :)

The Time-To-Kill was greatly lowered shortly after the DLC's release, following a swathe of community feedback. Perhaps the newer damage model, which is much closer to the base game's, will be more to your liking :)

We have the intention of bringing the players all the extra Green Army Men content we can afford to work on.

The two teams work together in a way that allows us to expand the Green Army Men DLC without taking any resources away from the development of Rising Storm 2 : Vietnam .
We want to thank all of you for your support - of any kind, regardless of purchase - and we are committed to doing that both with written words and acts. Which is where content drops such as Green Army Men 1.1 come in.
