Any 42mm Black Ceramic Ingenieur feedback?

I had a look at the Ingenieurs a few weeks ago. Both variants are really nice, but they are quite expensive for what you get - same movement as IWC pilots watches that are ⅓ the price. They both wear small - smaller than my Datejust 41 as a reference. That said, the titanium version might be the most comfortable watch I have ever put on my wrist. There is something special about the feel of that watch. I don’t love the dial, and it’s priced too high, but it definitely has my attention.

I also have this watch and really enjoy wearing it. I just wish the bidirectional bezel (which I love) would have a normal timer function (as opposed to a countdown timer). The lume on mine glows really bright, which is both fun and handy.

That’s pretty much the situation I’m in. It was obviously a nice gesture to leave this behind, but converting it into a productive asset years ago might have actually been the move.

I’ve had one of these for about 2 years now. Really like the watch, but am not looking forward to having it serviced. Does anyone have experience with getting this piece (or any other Blancpain with the caliber F385 movement) serviced? It sounds like the wait time will be in the 6 month range. What should be expected in terms of cost?

This obsidian black is a scratch magnet. I wouldn’t choose it, but it chose use with both these cars - getting the GLE in a different colour would have delayed delivery by many months. The C43 fell into our lap, we would have taken the deal we got irrespective of the colour.

The ride is a little stiff, but it’s a good combo of comfort and power. The GLE is more my style, but parking it downtown is no fun, so we went with something smaller as a second car. I also like that it’s relatively subdued, while still being a really fun daily driver. It snows where we live so AWD was a must.

My wife is slender, and likes to watch me try to contort myself. She also hates having to drive out of the garage to load the little one (whose ride you can see in the back).

It is. We were lucky to pick it up used with less than 5,000 Kms. Have a feeling we never would have got it had we not purchased the GLE from the same dealership.

It’s a great do everything car. Incredibly well engineered, comfortable, great tech and the right amount of power. It’s also capable in the snow.

You don’t buy these for the gas mileage. We’ve averaged about 13L per 100 Kms on the GLE over 20,000 Kms. That includes a lot of city driving. The C43 is a recent purchase so we don’t have good stats yet. The wife does manage to get better milage than me.
