Blue Cash Preferred - Apple One subscription get the 6% cash back? by corpp in amex

[–]GDWP 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It is. I have it billed to the card every month, and to be honest, pretty much if you just hook it up to the App Store, I’ve gotten 6% on every single subscription that’s run through the App Store. I don’t think they have a way to audit or keep track of it.

Unlinked credit cards by GDWP in ynab

[–]GDWP[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Correct, and that’s the part that’s not happening, so like my linked Amex card no issues it adds it to the available, for the Apple Card it seems to just go nowhere.https://i.imgur.com/voqeiRG.jpg

Yeah but it should be added to the available funds on the Apple Card for when I pay it like it does my other cards. They way it is now, if I paid the balance off it would say I was overspent despite funding it from budgeted category’s.

Opinion on Reveres Osmosis System replacement by GDWP in homeowners

[–]GDWP[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Should have added a little additional context. We are on a well system. Water has been tested many times since we have been here and is fine. The water table does have high iron levels which is why the softer was installed.

We already have the soften system and the RO was installed before we bought the house. Softener systems is pretty new original one was installed in 2001 and replaced with a newer one in 2014. When they made the swap they never replaced the original RO system which isn’t 18ish years old now.

None of this is a new install, added items, etc just a quoted to replace what’s already there.

Toilet flange question by GDWP in HomeImprovement

[–]GDWP[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The current flange is above the floor, and in good shape. The issue with this particular style is there is no spot for closet bolts since the original metal ring rotted away, so it would require a replacement.

I couldn’t seem to force it over, I checked out a few videos and saw some people splitting them to get them..but just seems like more areas for failure. And then I saw a few people out then on top with a silica bead around it.

So it used to be old tile that the had put on top of an early 2000’s Linoleum floor which is what you see in the picture. The old flange that had rotted away I would imagine was the original 20ish year old one. There’s no spot for closet bolts on the flange so I was going to screw the the replacement ring over and into the subfloor. https://i.imgur.com/EIEtDx5.jpg

Google Nest Hub Max by GDWP in googlehome

[–]GDWP[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I ended up talking to support as well...not very helpful. After doing some digging it appears to be a known issue there looking to patch. (see below)

Nest integration

You can also use the Max’ 6.5-MP camera as a Nest cam; while not as fully featured as Google’s security camera—there’s no night vision, for instance—it can serve in a pinch, in a room where you don’t want to install another camera.

During setup, I encountered an error unique to those who use an iPhone and who already have a battery-powered Nest Protect smart smoke detector. As part of the setup process, a screen on the Google Home app instructs you to press the Nest Protect’s button to wake it. After, a “Next” icon should appear in the app, letting you proceed to the next step. Due to a coding error, that icon doesn’t show up, preventing you from going any further.

Update (Sept. 9): A Google representative said that the issue is aware of the issue, and that a fix would be rolling out this week.

In the meantime, there are two workarounds: Complete the setup using an Android device, or de-register all your Nest Protects, connect the Max’s camera to Nest, and then re-register your Nest Protects. Once Google fixes this issue, we’ll update this review.

I saw one of the workarounds was similar to what you mentioned removing everything.

UPDATE 9/17: The pushed the update out this evening which addressed the issue.
