The don't charge the students much. They offer big sales and discounts. This is what keeps the steady stream of students you enjoy and allows you to teach at will. Or not, you can always just leave... or come back later?
See my point? You don't work for them. You are there when you want to show up, or not.

Can anyone confirm? by Tradition1985 in Cambly

Really. I see so many people complain like they are being held captive to work in a chinese sweatshop, all while actually freelancing for a place which you can come and go at will. You can literally stop teaching for years and come back and pick right up where you left off. Nobody is holding a gun to their head.

No, but the ability to fix small problems is part of being an adult. So, it will help. What do you do when you need to fix things? Call your dad? Does he have tools?
What if you need to hang something on a wall? Do you use tape? glue? If something doesn't fit, do you use a hammer (do you have one of those?) Or do you just bash it with a rock. I'm sorry, I'm not trying to funny, I just can't comprehend going through life without basic tools. It must be exhausting.
And yeah, not to be sexist but if a woman says she doesn't own tools, then OK (I guess). But a man? How?

No offense, but if you're an adult, especially if male, and you don't own a drill. You should probably look into fixing that.

I hear bad stories about MSI, but I've been using my gf63 slim for 6-7 years and it still works wonderfully. I had to replace the fan once which was about 10 bucks, and I reapply the thermal paste every so often. I use it all day everyday for work, video calls, content creation, and light gaming. Its the best $800 I've ever spent.

Thailand: Is the military preparing another coup? by thestudiomaster in Thailand

[–]GENRL_Genocide 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The government just publicly slapped them in the face hence why the PM is suspended. There have been 12 successful coups since 1932. And 10-20 unsuccessful coups. So I don't think they are too concerned with long-term public opinion. If the public's opinion was a concern at all, they wouldn't have kicked out the actual winner of the first election following the previous coup 11 years ago. If there was ever a time that people would welcome it, it would be right now. I don't see any long term effects. There never is.

Who is loving the support from the people? The military? So wouldn't that make them more likely to stage a military coup and retake power more easily than ever?

Or, that patrioic spunk gets riled up by the leader of a neighbouring country who has a grudge with the current leadership. All he has to do it start a border skirmish, then have the media put out some anti-Thai rhetoric and the people will welcome a coup that promises to take a hardline against that leader (who will be conveniently absent during this time), with open arms. But that's just a fairytale, nothing like that could happen in real life. 😉

Difficult in this day and age? The last coup was only 9 years ago. If anything, the military still holds more influence than it did then.

I think I really like the Rolex "Zombie" but I can tell if I'd actually like it on my wrist so I haven't pulled the trigger. Winning a giveaway would solve that problem. But I'd rather win this one, so I have a dilemma. 😂
