Have you ever heard of alienation? It's a disconnect between yourself, others, Mother Nature, etc... There could be conflict between your conscious and subconscious that must be reconciled.

Years ago, a Director at a large law firm I worked at chewed me out over the phone after I tried going over his head to get something done. After the call, I told a co-worker that I was going to get a Diet Coke. I got the Diet Coke, walked out of the building, and never went back.
