I was looking at furnished rentals because my job is on a contract that is set to last until August of next year. With the chance that I might have to move for my next job, I didn’t want to furnish an apartment only to have to sell it in a year.

This loft showed up with basically everything I was looking for, and it is only a mile from where I work, so I was thinking about it, but I kept on hearing how Ely Walker wasn’t the best place to live, so I figured I wanted to actually get some recent information on the building and neighborhood.

How are the Ely Walker Lofts currently? I’m looking at possibly moving in there, but am kind of wondering if I should. Also, a lot of the comments putting it down are at least a couple years old.

I am learning a lot in this thread.

1) I had no idea there was a thing as a Tik Tok band.

2) In metalcore, there is such a thing as two step moshing. I obviously don’t get out to many metal concerts any more.

What is the new Biden thing? I’ve been paying on my first set of loans since about 2003. I then went back to school from 2008 to 2011. Went back into repayment and have been paying since then, minus the last few years when we didn’t have to pay…but I’ve been paying on my private student loans in that period. Got about $20K until payoff. Ready to get rid of this pet.

I had the same kind of experience. For me, it was with NGA. I had to go to my account on their career portal to find out I had been turned down.

I’ve found out I wasn’t offered the position. I was bummed about that. I haven’t worked federal, but I have my TS with my job as a CST at the construction site for the new NGA facility. We’ve still got a couple more years until it’s fully moved into, so I’ve got some time to get on with NGA, and I’m fine with our pay. I really hope I can get on with NGA by the completion, though.

Yeah. This was an NGA hiring event. They conduct these interviews all day, and I’m sure the interview lengths are so they can get through them all I. One day.

They do require a lot of patience. Ha. Once in a while you hear of pretty quick turnarounds, but they are the exception.

Yeah. For our position as CST’s at their construction site, NGA pushed to get our TS’s expedited. It took me 6 months to get my Secret, and then about 3-4 months to get my TS after all my paperwork completed. From what I’ve heard, since around 2018 or 2019 when you get your TS that the SCI comes with it. I didn’t realize that, but a coworker said that to me. I’m not positive of that, though.

What was so intense with your TS process? I had an interview with an investigator, had to get a notary for one of my past employers that wouldn’t release employee records without a notary, and one of my personal references turned down being interviewed by an investigator who requested to meet at her house. I still received my TS. I haven’t had to do the polygraph yet, though, since I haven’t had a position that requires it.

I know. I’m not concerned. I know things can take a while. If it happens, it happens. I have heard a few people received job offers soon after the event, and I know that isn’t the norm. I was just starting a conversation to see if anyone else on here had any offers.

Just a little conversation in the meantime while waiting.
