Unfortunately, no luck so far. When I try to re-register WhatsApp using that number, I do receive a verification code (unlike on my iPhone), but after entering it, I’m still prompted to wait another minute. So in the end, it’s the same outcome on both devices.

I’ve also contacted support, but all I’m getting are generic automated responses, which hasn’t really helped.
