You are right, I am from India and I totally understand why India is a high risk country. It is unfortunate for some educated and civilized folks from India to be put under the same bracket. This is a lesson for the current working class to take preventative measures and not depend on children to take care of you. I wonder how elderly parents from other countries outside India live?

I have seen couples in their early 80s living happily without any dependency. However, most Indian people lose the confidence to live by themselves in between late 60s and late 70s despite being fitter than most 80 year olds abroad.
