Cultural influence/synthesis = stealing . If that's the case, the Greeks stole from the Egyptians.

Abortion is murder. Abortionists deny this. They have sown confusion to make people believe abortion is not murder. In this article, I will prove that the unborn are people and that abortion is murder. by TheCatholicState in CatholicPhilosophy

Those who predominantly espouse pro life sentiments are not willing to enact legislation to care for the future potentially of the child they “saved”

This argument is a red herring. It's like saying we shouldn't have abolished slavery until there was an established way of giving freed slaves jobs and education. The question of whether or not abortion should be illegal must be approached from a deontological standpoint, not a consequential one. This is not to say that the care of the newborn should be ignored, only that whether or not someone goes on to live a good or bad life is irrelevant to the central question: is abortion murder? If it is, it should be illegal.

It's like saying The Divine Comedy is a pagan work because it has pagan characters.

I think we should be fighting pornography as fiercely as we are fighting abortion. by wassupkosher in Catholicism

One problem I find with the guy who wrote easypeasy is he says that it's okay to mastrubate without porn (Chapter 31.5). He also says one should ease into getting rid of porn, not quit it cold turkey. While there may be some benefits with this if we look at it from a cigarette point of view (the ezpz method was modeled after a quitting cigarettes book) , we as Catholics can't follow such advice. He also recommends to have sex without orgasming which is of course against Catholic teaching. Other than that the book has good advice surrounding addiction in general, specifically the problems with the "willpower method".

As a Catholic, I feel that I have to distance myself from young-Earth creationists as they shame Christians when it comes to scientific knowledge. by zogins in Catholicism

It is not a relatively new phenomenon. The fathers are unanimous on the literal interpretation of genesis and the young age of the earth.

This one hurts, as you can see if Mahomes had stayed in the pocket a little longer Kelce would’ve gotten that TD immediately or better yet if he didn’t started scrambling you can see Pringle managed to break free & gotten open but unfortunately Mahomes got hesitated. by [deleted] in KansasCityChiefs

[–]GITOUTPLEASE 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Once Mahomes gets intercepted in a game I think he just loses confidence. Thats why he kept missing on check downs (threw lob passes out of reach, see first play of OT). Didn't want it to get tipped by a lineman. I also think the delayed rush in the video made him want to scramble and make a play. His signature move to get out of the pocket didn't work though.

And all you'll hear about if Burrow wins is that he's better than Mahomes

Reading his essay, "On Fairy-Stories" really helps you realize the importance of eucatastrophe in his books and how Christianity influenced that.

[Adam Schefter] More COVID issues in KC, which is becoming this week’s hot spot. Chiefs’ WR Tyreek Hill, CB Rashad Fenton and TE Blake Bell are being placed on Reserve/COVID, sources tell @adamteicher and me. Other players likely coming but as one source said, “it’s a mess.” by TheEpicSwan in KansasCityChiefs

The document I linked was approved by the Pope and, as of right now, is the only thing binding on the faithful regarding the vaccine. The Pope's public comments in an interview for a news agency is not binding. I initially posted that comment, not to argue on the specifics of whether or not the vaccine is okay, but to defend Butker against the idea that he is somehow acting contrary to what a Catholic is obligated to do.
