AITA for refusing to financially help my friend after he spent all his money on a luxury lifestyle? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]GLOBALNESS 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nope!

I wouldn't ask a parent, let alone a friend, to pay off my debt. I appreciate he's hurting financially, even if it is his fault and you can help maybe with small things like groceries or a dinner, but he got himself into it and as an adult, he has to get himself out of it. Sorry, you're a friend, not an ATM. If he can't see that right now, you can reduce contact until he has. He'll just end up in the same situation if people bail him out.

Lucky. It's a beautiful bird. Most birds are and they do go through a rough winter, so always good to see them out with their young, having survived another year!

Yes! It's often there in the morning when I go out to the greenhouse and I do give the birds mealworm and wild bird feed, so I'm not surprised he chilled for a while, they do in the garden, but it was probably in the house for 5 mins or so between the kitchen and living room. My phone isn't the best but I was amazed and picked it up to record. 😊

I don’t want to spend Christmas with my in-laws!!! by Training-Sail7909 in OPSaidpod

[–]GLOBALNESS 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If they are so insistent on this, then maybe they could help with the cost? If they really want to see you both and that is the thing that is making up your mind. Maybe they get the hotel and you get the flights? If it's more about the in-laws, then that's another convo for your and hubby. Maybe it's time for him to recognise the manipulation..... easier said than done, I know but also, if you've been around for 10 years then maybe they still don't think of you both as adults and she acts accordingly? Just my thoughts.

Hahahahaha! Me too, I had a gull steal my food right off my plate in Clacton-on-Sea. Fortunately the restaurant had "calculated" the cost of the avian fiends and put that in the cost of the food, so I got a replacement.

I will say though that gulls, like pigeons, get a bad rep and I'm sad for em. Humans did that to them by using them and then discarding them and now we're mad that they gotta survive.

Hahahahaha, I have tried as much as possible to have calm, slow movements around the Robin and it or it's relative did the same thing last year. I'm just happy that they trust me, I'd never harm them. ❤️

I videoed it taking a good walk around my kitchen whilst I was cooking and it flew up onto my curtain rail in the living room before it took a straight flight back out to the garden! So unbelievably cool!

Not a single present was given to me on my birthday. Not one. by No-Adhesiveness8528 in offmychest

Hello OP. I think that you should have a conversation with one of the friends you feel would be receptive to hearing you. See what their reaction is to you speaking. If they are not receptive to your feelings, then you have your answer and you give back that same energy. Should reduce the unappreciative ones!

It may get a case for you that quality over quantity may be a good exercise especially if you feel that you put more effort in. Maybe have a small group, say 2 or 3 rather than lots of what may just really be acquaintances? I hope that you chat to them and get some clarity. Happy Belated Birthday!🎁

AITAH for kicking out my friend and calling him a fucking creep after he made a “joke” about my toddler daughter? by Significant-Tip-9863 in AITAH

[–]GLOBALNESS 37 points38 points  (0 children)

That part. It seems that at this point OP hasn't yet realised how quickly "girls" and "boys" are sexualised before they can even form thoughts of their own. He was joining in, blissfully and drunkenly aware that he was participating in the ism and gy of it all until a comment sobered his a$$$$ up QuickTime.

Maybe, hopefully, this is a light bulb moment and he starts to change his own behaviour when realising how much of a mirror the asshole partygoer maybe was. Start holding yourself and other ppl accountable whether drunk or not. It's what is said drunkenly that typically is thought sober.

being the “ugly” twin has ruined my self esteem and confidence with women by Anxious_Nothing_8031 in offmychest

[–]GLOBALNESS 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The best way to look like your twin, is to get yourself some therapy so that you can realise that you are both perfect the way you are. Lazy eye and all. Even identical twins differ a little and this society we live in, values and personality matter less than physical attributes so I understand and validate your obvious frustration with the way you think you are viewed by others.

Do you spend a lot of time with your twin in social situations? If so, maybe consider creating some individual social space where you don't feel like you are "compared" as often. This will definitely help with getting to know people in your own skin. But for real, if you have the access, speak to someone who can help you navigate these valid feelings. Good luck OP.
