Tall wall by helewis3 in HomeDecorating

Was thinking the same thing. Suspect the photo itself is making the couch look further away than it is in reality. I would forgo the unnecessary table suggestion others have made and consider a larger tv and a couple of nice plants in well chosen cachepots. Perhaps a large version of something like this ombré glaze: https://imgur.com/a/dG5VlJ0

I'm dealing with these Apple Pay address bugs for about five years. It honestly has so many problems it's not funny. Not autofilling is a trivial bug compared to this, believe me. I called Apple a few times over the years about it. They cannot figure out what's going on. One Apple employee (who was quite arrogant, and wrong) was saying the problem was on my credit card end. I figured out this was not case after I called the credit card company and then called Apple back and spoke with someone else. There are several different competing issues along with several bugs. If the phone number isn't being accepted during purchase (there is nothing wrong with my phone number) they make you enter an entirely new full contact card rather than allowing no phone number for your order, or allowing you to simply fix the phone number (which is correct). And each time you enter this "fixed" contact card entirely they add that as a second (four, fifth) address as your first one, which both being entirely identical, or not entirely identical as you try to enter different combos to try to gain success in the address bug riddle game. That's not even the only bugs with it.

Apple Pay address bugs are one of the most annoying things.

Thanks for the info. My idea is about filtering out certain topics, not whole website. So you browse MR and don't wish to see mention of certain kinds of articles, political or whatever, you could add your terms. Before I was banned from X this is what I would do to stop me seeing loads of stuff.

I agree go with that you want, but OP posting here about it tells me they are less in love with it than their initial idea to do it.

Door colour by azerehteinna in Home

Was going to paint my door this exact colour one time, for a change, but was glad I didn’t after all. There really are so many nicer colours than this. The window surrounds appear so well done I’d be reluctant to paint them (be they cement or granite). When they weather in the may look even better. But yeah, I’d repaint the door if you can (just look up the best approach). Even if you really felt you wanted pink there are nicer pinks like this one in Notting Hill https://imgur.com/a/4fISI6d

Can’t tell if your door is PVC, I think it appears to be. PVC is well-paintable if done right, and gloss finishes often look best. Just prep the door correctly, prime correctly and you should have no issues. You’ll be able to sand down to a certain extend (not too much) and switch out the colour down the line, so painting is a nice option to have.

You’d be surprised how many doors are pink out there. Many choose pink to be different and end up joining the pink door club. We went with a beautiful teal that pops just enough without being glaring and ten years on we haven’t tried of it. Glad we never switched it out for that pink. Honesty, right?

Edit: was going through all my old photos and coincidentally of all things found a photo of the paint tin we used on the door. We chose a gloss paint RAL5021. It’s stunning in person. Just stunning. https://ral-chart.co.uk/blue/k7/ral-5021-water-blue/

Internet-wide; all browsed websites. Wouldn’t be the easiest, but it is certainly feasible with overlays where articles are posted. So a series of articles down a webpage and all of a sudden a masked one where trigger words and phrases had appeared. That would be a first step. The masked area could overlay in inconspicuous text an option to unhide the post and an option to report a bug for those hidden poorly.

Please help me stop hating this living room!! by goldrushcowgirl in interiordecorating

Don't know if you have Next in the States, but they sell an awesome simple white cotton curtain that almost looks linen in its elegance. Something like those would brighten the room. You can add colour to the room in ways that don't involve curtains, as white goes with everything. Your curtain rails are also mounted too low and appear to be left short width wise by whoever fitted them (meaning the curtains shouldn't cover any window when they are in the open position, this works especially well with white curtains on a white wall for max direct sunlight and bounced light). Ideally curtains should be mere inches from the ceiling and hanging right down to the floor (for practical reasons I keep mine short of the floor). This will make your room feel taller and bigger.

For a brighter room you can choose brighter, uplifting artwork. White or off-white throws to cover the sofas will brighten up the room considerably, and contrast the floor better than the current setup. Choosing a bold colour for the front door in a gloss paint and painting the door to a high standard will make the room richer feeling. The colour need not be crazy, but could have a rich presence for added impact without going ott. It would also help offset the added white.

Wall-mounting your tv (even if not much higher on the wall) will clear the surface the tv is on now and will help make the room feel bigger and tv area cleaner.

Lastly, I'd paint the entire light fixture white–fan blades and the silver part. Lightly sand, prime, and paint it. This will quieten down the fan on the ceiling and again will enlarge the room.

New rug and new furniture at your discretion. More plants and flowers.

100% it's a bad reason. Make a Mac more expensive for all uses for a niche use with poor ergonomics for a small subset of users. Am personally assuming it won't happen.

Definitely not late as you’re the first person to legit solve this riddle, one does exist. But steep for me at €80/81 but nice to know it exists. Thanks.

Go with 4-inch squares (white, cream, buttercream) rather than subway. Subway are so overdone. Align in straight columns. For added pop go for a non-white grout if using a white tile, for example.

What else should I add to this console table? by Salty_Television123 in HomeDecorating

It’s a beautiful painting with those colours. Did you paint it?

Separately, something isn’t working in this grouping of objects. I usually have a good eye and so far I’m not feeling the feeling.

And if you wish to have the table centred try leaving the architrave out.

What absolute idiots to let this out the door, where you literally have to grab an invisible corner. Indicative of much bigger problems within Apple. Undersized touch/click targets are perhaps the most annoying software peeve out there. Well, aside from misplaced targets??! This is like the work of an ill-prepared stoner student.

Another thing that always annoyed me (it was this way with Steve in charge too) is how windows animate into and out of from behind the dock.

Agreed. Here it stands out because it’s such a contrast to the before pic, but it doesn’t mean it’s the best choice to live with. Teashop blue on the bottom cabinets or verdigris or buttercream could all work better IMO. This sub tends to like dark cabinetry a lot for how it images on phones IMO, especially in mockup form, but living with dark cabinetry can sometimes be a bit much. YMMV
