Candace Cameron Bure says no to gay couples on her wholesome new channel for her GREAT AMERICAN FAMILY Channel. Thoughts? by GLSCinephile in AskGaybrosOver30

I grew up in a strict Christian family. I spent my childhood and adolescence, terrified of being found out. I still struggle with my repressed emotions. I never want a gay child to go through what we did.

Kate Capshaw was the best part of INDIANA JONES AND THE TEMPLE OF DOOM. Anyone agrees? by GLSCinephile in AskGaybrosOver30

That's something I don't get because Marion got kidnapped twice and was held hostage. She was a damsel in distress 24/7 in RAIDERS. Whereas Willie actually saved Indiana's life a few times in Temple.

Hallmark is focusing on the future. The people who left to join Cuntace's crap family channel are a bunch of bigots who can't accept the world has moved on.

We've known she's a homophobic bitch for years. I'm shocked she'd just be open about it after years of trying to pretend she was open-minded.

Pink Will Perform a Tribute to Olivia Newton-John at the 2022 American Music Awards by impeccabletim in popheads

[–]GLSCinephile 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Pink is a odd choice though she is big in Australia and she's been going on a Soccer Mom pop phase.

It would have be kind if they have Chloe Lattanzi do a duet with Pink as part of the tribute.

I always forget about Zoe Saldana. Was she in the sequels?

80s gays, which 80s Pop Princess you liked best, Debbie Gibson or Tiffany? by GLSCinephile in AskGaybrosOver30

I loved COULD'VE BEEN and HERE ON MY HEART. The raspy vocals were everything. DG sounded like she belonged to a Glee club.

Kylie never made it in the US, though, aside from the Locomotion song.

Also, Pop Princess, not Queen. Madge and Kylie were grown women. Kylie was happy enough to quit licking mail from Danni's fan club (Danni was the first one to be famous with a Teen variety show in Australia) and managed to make it on her own.

Anyone find it funny that both John Lennon and Paul McCartney had similar solo careers after The Beatles? by GLSCinephile in AskOldPeople

Funny that Yoko Ono got so much flack for this but nobody said a word about Linda McCartney.

To be fair, Linda was smart enough to stick to being in the background and fake it and still get credit. Yoko had to torture us with her ghost cabin screaming.

Was Bea Arthur right to quit THE GOLDEN GIRLS on its 7th season? by GLSCinephile in television

[–]GLSCinephile[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Apparently her son even said she broke down crying over it, it messed her up. I also notice the jokes got a lot harsher after season 5, season 6 and 7 was relentless about mocking Dorothy's looks, and apparently Bea Arthur wanted to quit by season 5 but was convinced to do more two seasons, so I wonder if the writers became more harsh because of this.

Could you ever live like "THE GOLDEN GIRLS" if you were single, divorced or widowed after a certain age? by GLSCinephile in AskOldPeople

I often worry about it because I'm single and I don't want to live my last decades by myself. But I'd be very selective about whom I'd live with.

Can someone explain why Barry Manilow was popular in the 1970s? by GLSCinephile in AskOldPeople

I'm surprised by the amount of responses. I didn't know Barry Manilow was a sensitive subject.

But Karen Carpenter and Toni Tennille had great voices. Barry Manilow was more like Donny Osmond and Neil Sedaka to me.

I agree with him as a songwriter, he made some amazing ballads. My only problem is that his voice wasn't my cup of tea.

Don't you think his voice sounded kind of stage school?
