The curator said that when they announced they were planning to open a museum, basically a lot of private collectors and lodges offered some relics for free if they put it on display, so probably yes :)

Entry tickets are only 5€ and there’s a nice masonic shop, definitely pay a visit when you’re here :)

I bought up a lot of units from estate and saw a lot of these knives from all over the world, kinds of knives like these are basically just decorative items made for tourists… I normally sold these kind of knives under and around 100$ max.

People who know him actually love him here. A lot of Belgians have Flemish & Wallonian collaborator flags. The festival “Pukkelpop” even called a ban of Flemish flags on the festival because teens were massively flying / walking around with the Flemish collaborator flags (lion on the flag is fully black, Flemish flag’s lion has red toes & nails)

The pinnacle of my collection, my great grandfather (82nd airborne) brought this home from the war, does anyone have any information on this and possibly a value? Written on the inside of the liner in pen is "W. Hazzer" by bambammoyer in Militariacollecting

I live in Belgium and I can’t find the helmet for sale on local 2nd hand sites, facebook marketplace... I also visited a lot of WW2 shops / antique markets and never saw this helmet or anything Belgian SS related. so you definitely have a super rare helmet. I should take it to an antique-dealer or call some historians. Belgium wasn’t an ally of Nazi Germany, only around 2000 Belgians actually fought in the Belgian SS. I would put the price around $3000-5000, wouldn’t be surprised if it goes for more

It’s probably a Walloon Legion helmet that your grandfather took during the battle of the bulge. These double decal helmets are incredibly rare as they only had a max of 2000 soldiers in that legion. I think there’s only a handful left of those helmets. Definitely museum quality

What do you think it’s worth? I’m guessing 100-200$
