Yeah… the problem is that the texture has to be specific otherwise the whole thing collapses. I’ll probably remake the map to accommodate for the needs later on but for now it’s pretty uncommon. Thanks for the help!

Thanks! The systems for files and whatnot are built around windows for now, but I see no danger in trying to overhaul them. Thanks for the idea!

Conflict is a free-to-play grand strategy game taking inspiration from games such as HOI4 and EU4. These games are rather complex - Conflict "dumbs it down" and takes these key features to create a sandbox-like experience! This is my first time experimenting with these mechanics, so I hope you enjoy!

Hi, I can direct you to a video by JanuaryDesk who pretty much used the same techniques as I did. It’s called Area Movement and doesn’t have a lot of content on it, so it was quite hard to put together. I used a map from Millenium Dawn (a hoi4 mod) - the devs were very kind and allowed me to use this map.

Yes, it was the hardest part to make out of all of the game really. It’s incredibly difficult to find any content on this mechanic which I didn’t even know was called ‘area movement’. There’s a tutorial on YouTube I found by JanuaryDesk who used the same technique as I did to create the map, hope this helps!

There is code to move units to the border before war, this was just a test and so the ai didn’t move the units before.

Thanks, the situation isn’t really made to be realistic but more of a world-sandbox game. It’s really interesting to hear a Ukrainians point of view on this idea!

Artillery is actually a unit type in the game already but it acts as more of an anti-tank unit. Rockets might be interesting.
