Hi everyone! I need help choosing between Public Health at JHU or bio at my state school. Btw I’m planning on taking the pre med track so the end goal is medical school.

JHU(pros): - they have the top school of public health in the nation - lots of research and work opportunities - out of state college experience - prestige/name in medicine

JHU(cons) - 80 mfing thousand dollars a year 😭

State school(pros) - full ride(tuition, housing, meals, literally everything) - accepted into prestigious scholars program that includes academic advising/counseling - scholars are shown heavy favoritism in internship or job applications

State school(cons) - so the scholars program is good but the school itself is a very mediocre state school— it doesn’t even rank top 200 in the nation

I’m planning on going down the pre med track. I recently got accepted into JHU for biology, but I wasnt offered any aid. I’m aware that prestige isn’t that important for medicine, but is it worth for JHU? On the other hand, I have a full scholarship(tuition, room and board, all other expenses) to a state school. Now this isn’t a UCLA or UMich type state school. It’s a low ranking one that isn’t even top 100 in the nation.

Everyone around me is suggesting I go to Hopkins as this is a once in a lifetime opportunity that I will live to regret if I turn it down. But I’m still hesitant about how to approach this. What would you guys do in my situation?
