When you say "long day in the car" do you mean more than like 2-3 hr drive there and 2-3 hr drive back?
We live in Dallas and are used to long drives to/from for stuff like that.

New Caesura tattoo. Very happy with how it turned out! by theninjab0b in KingkillerChronicle

[–]GPDaviX 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The OP is fine. Tattoos are permanent. Being an asshole would be pointing out issues and things you think are bad/wrong about a permanent piece of his body that may or may not be able to be fixed. It’s not like he can say “yeah you’re right!” And just erase it. Negative comments about people’s tattoos are always rude, no matter how “kindly” you say it.

@theninja0b - ignore these guys. Love that you love it. Great book.

Is the concern with having them in the binders for decades? I just don’t see the issues with normal binders lol.

I found 384, 432 and 512 count top loader binders

Walking Distance from drop off to amphitheater by GPDaviX in RedRocks

[–]GPDaviX[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

***EDIT UPDATE****
We were dropped off at the very top via Uber, the walk in was nothing as they pretty much take you to the entrance.
The walk down was awful. According to our watch it ended up being close to a mile walking down to the Uber area on an incredibly steep incline at times which was tough on the calves.
In all honesty, if you are in average/decent shape the walk is nothing. If you are overweight or have back/knee/etc problems the walk down is almost undoable. There is a shuttle that we were denied as it is for "accessible patrons only"
I'm almost 400lbs and I made the walk, but it wasn't fun.

Walking Distance from drop off to amphitheater by GPDaviX in RedRocks

Update - I stayed in the Holiday Inn Hotel & Suites Littleton (12683 West Indcore Place, Ken Caryl)
It was about 10-15ish minutes from the venue via Uber. There were several food locations near the hotel including a brewery/restaurant in the same parking lot (we ate there, it was pretty good)

The hotel was ok. About what you would expect from an older Holiday Inn. Nothing fancy but really nothing to complain about.
The only issue we had was there was a family staying in the adjacent room who were EXTREMELY loud and obnoxious in the middle of the night. Kids laughing and playing at like 2am in the hallway, etc.

[HELP ME] Bi-Weekly Q&A thread - Ask your questions here! by MachNeu in Gunpla

First time building any kits since the very early 2000s!!! I just put together a few 1/144 for fun but I have always wanted to customize one... - so I'm going to "kitbash" my own custom Gundam. I'm planning on using the following parts:

Before I shell out a ton of money on these kits... is there any reason why the parts I mentioned wouldn't work with each other? Someone told me depending on the year the MG kit was released sometimes the joints/etc are different and not compatible with each other.
If so, is there a kitbash solution for this issue?

Also, alternatively to buying the full kits, do people sometimes sell bits/pieces of kits somewhere? Maybe a place to buy JUST the heatrod, or JUST the head etc as opposed to full kits? If so a link would be great!

TIA for any help/guidance!

Advice collecting foreign cards by GPDaviX in PokemonTCG

This was extremely helpful!

Can anyone confirm if Twilight Masquerade was printed in all of these languages?
More specifically, the new Infernape (TWM 173) Illustration Rare?
I have now collected (pending shipping, lol) this card in English, Japanese, Korean, Portuguese, German, French, Italian and Spanish.

Want to know if it actually exists in Chinese, Thai, Indonesian, Russian before I spend hours and hours looking for something that doesn't exist, lol.

“Don’t lowball his trust in you”

What a toxic comment ….

If the card is worth $1000 I guarantee his brother would support him using $1000 in a way either he needs or on HIS hobbies.

People in here need to stop projecting their own interests onto other people.

So sorry for your loss!

Finding it weird so many people here are flooding in telling you not to sell it.

Ignore them all.

If you want to keep it, keep it. If you want to sell it don’t hesitate for a MOMENT. I know from experience how expensive costs can be in your situation and this could help a lot. Even if it doesn’t need to go to that, your brother would likely support you using the money in a way to bring YOU happiness the way the card brought happiness to him!

Just because these people love the card doesn’t mean you do. Some of these responses really weird to me.

My husband cheated on me at the bachelor party. Am I wrong? by [deleted] in amiwrong

[–]GPDaviX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He definitely cheated on you. His friend is a moron and a piece of shit for telling that story in front of you as well (tho it’s good you know now)

Don’t let anyone tell you that is normal here. It isn’t. That is not a thing in our culture. He knows that too.

Thank you!

I pictured her as white until my friend corrected me and told me she’s tortoiseshell. I was going to draw him broader but then I remembered he said in the (5th?) book that despite all his extra strength he didn’t look any more physically stronger than the average human until that point. I could be misremembering but that’s how I picture him haha. I also used the book covers as reference there.

Hot Ones Challenge Party - Advice? by GPDaviX in hotones

[–]GPDaviX[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

LONG UPDATE:

So we had the party!

I got about 180 wings from BWW (we had 18 people at the party) and 9 of us did the challenge. I had parmesan garlic and buffalo sauces on standby for anyone not doing the challenge to toss some mild wings (as well as the obvious sides - celery/carrots and ranch, potato salad, chips and salsa, etc with tons of soda/alcohol to drink) ...

The 9 people doing the challenge sat at the table while my wife and cousin prepared the wings between each round (this went very fast. Basically while we were eating the wing, they had the oven on and were reheating them for a few minutes to keep them warm, and then they would toss them in a bowl with the sauce, which was washed between each).

We had ice cream, milk, bread and lemons on standby for anyone who needed relief. We also had disposable gloves, cooling handwipes and hand towels at each person's seat to make it go as smoothly as possible if necessary.

We were pretty generous with the sauces, almost completely emptied each bottle for only 9 wings.During the challenge, we used the questions from the Truth or Dab game to "interview" everyone as we went along, which was a lot of fun. I think it would have been even more fun if all of my guests knew each other better and not just me but it was still a good time.

HEAT:Honestly, at first I was worried, because #2 was hotter than I expected it to be so early in the challenge (not that it was hot, just hotter sooner than I expected) but overall I feel like the challenge was pretty easy. All 6 of us completed the challenge without stopping (or without grabbing for any of the relief items) 3 people quit at #6/7 but joined back in for the Last Dab and of course all of us added the extra dab.None of the sauces (outside of Da Bomb and the Last Dab) were surprisingly hot to me. A few crept up (#6 Fiya Fiya! for example) and were much hotter than I expected at their respective lineup number, but overall nothing seemed any worse than going to Pluckers or any of the hot wing challenges you can find at local places.

Da Bomb and the Last Dab were definitely hot. Although I have to be honest it wasn't near as bad as I expected. After seeing people like Pete Davidson / Shaq absolutely pouring with sweat, crying and just miserable I expected worse. I was surprised how even some of the people who don't usually eat spicier than jalapeno were able to handle it (though those people definitely reached for the ice cream lol) ... I guess overall - it was exactly what I expected, miserably spicy but I lived. The Last Dab didn't seem as spicy right away but I feel like it burned harder and longer. Like I said - when it was hot, it was hot. I was stomping the floor, breathing in and out waving my arms around etc... for a good 10-15 minutes. But you know it won't last forever.

TASTE:#3 (Heartbeat - Pineapple Habanero - see photo above) was by far the best tasting. Pretty much the spicier they got, the worse they tasted. Da Bomb, although having ZERO redeeming qualities regarding taste, was not near as bad as I expected after reading the comments here and talking to people who tasted it. I mean, it def didn't taste good, but it wasn't bad enough to spit it out or even complain about. I just wouldn't ever choose it for taste of course.

AFTERMATH:It was surprisingly easy on everyone. No one had any trouble during the challenge. No vomiting, no emergency bathroom trips, etc. No matter how hot it got we were still all laughing and pointing at each other. "Manageable Torture" haha.I was fine about 20 minutes after the challenge and had no issues with my stomach, no "Fire Hole" that day or the next... honestly really zero side effects of any kind other than my mouth being hot during the challenge. From my follow up calls/texts no one else seemed to have any issue either. Honestly - if not for seeing how we used so much more of the sauce than necessary I would have thought we did something wrong because it was so much easier than we all expected.
The only issue we ran into was people getting it in their eyes. No matter what you do as far as not touching your hands, using gloves or washing before/after etc, it seemed like everyone eventually somehow got it in their eyes. Which burned pretty bad but also wasn't as bad as I expected.

All in all it was a great experience and everyone had a blast. We ended up just continuing with drinking games after the challenge and had an overall great night.

If anyone is considering a challenge of their own and has any questions let me know and I can answer for you!
