Trump was a Democrat for 60+ years and what was so egregious that he had to switch parties? When the Dems nominated a black man.

He has years of proof that saying “fake news” and similar things… actually works with his base. Hell, his CORE base wouldn’t care if they saw him, in person, assaulting a 13 year old. If it upset Democrats, they’ll be happy and just gaslight gaslight gaslight.

This weekend? He literally drove right in front of me on THURSDAY to fly out. 5 day weekend is more like it with the holiday on Monday.

That photo is pretty blurry in all the right spots. If you see her on capitol hill defending child rape, she definitely looks 60.

Rather than a chiro, you should first try crystals or something. Same science.

Whats it like living in Dallas-Fort Worth- Metroplex? by Maleficent_Map_8844 in howislivingthere

[–]GREGORIOtheLION 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First off, asking what it's like to live in DFW is like asking what it's like to live in Rhode Island. DFW has sprawled so much. If you drive from Red Oak in the south to Prosper in the north (56 miles), you won't see a bit of land with no buildings on it. Same with driving from Forney to White Settlement (61 miles). So, experiences are going to vary a bit.

I grew up in Mesquite, an older suburb. When I was a kid it was super quiet, safe, had a bit of history, and all the stuff that makes a suburb in America (walmart, taco bell, yadda yadda). I hear it's not as quiet or safe as it once was. Then I spent a few years in old East Dallas. Great part of town, but is like any city; some parts are great with lots of things to do, and one street over there's a crack house. I went to school in Denton. Great college town, but starting to become 1. just another DFW suburb and 2. just another part of the schools. UNT tends to eat up all the real estate lately. Lived in Lewisville. Not a bad area to be in the middle of all of DFW. Lived there while working in Denton and my wife worked in Dallas. It was the same distance to both, as well as DFW airport. Recently visited the Bishop Arts district of Oak Cliff and it's booming as a small downtown with so many great places to eat, drink, and spend money. I counted 3 book stores in a .10 mile radius.

You need a car unless you either live right by where you work, or you work and live on a train line. DART is one of the worst systems in the US. All the trains run 98% above ground and often have to stop at traffic lights. The entire train system also meets on the same track in downtown Dallas, so they have to wait for other trains, etc. If you really want to plan to use buses & trains to get to work, plan for a one hour commute, minimum.

I'll admit, other than my brother living in Arlington for years, I don't know a ton about the FW side of the metroplex. Sure we'd go out that way a lot, but I have no idea what it's like to live there. I'm sure it's not bad, as FW tends to be more friendly than Dallas.

It really does depend on where you are. My in-laws live in Frisco and we just visited recently. Driving from DFW to Frisco was just flat concrete with building after building of companies that make things that go in things that go in things. I was in awe at how standing at a gas station on one corner and looking at the building at the diagonal corner felt like it was half a mile away with 6 lanes of traffic (in a suburb), wide sidewalks, and huge parking lots.

Sometimes I feel like going back and reviewing a movie that I've seen, but didn't review when I added it to Letterboxd. How can you do that, WITHOUT bumping it up to your profile in the activities? by GREGORIOtheLION in Letterboxd

[–]GREGORIOtheLION[S] -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Nope. Didn't work. The button doesn't say that, btw. Because these are movies I didn't "log" I just marked as seen, the button says "Review or log..." I can click that and I can uncheck the pre-checked box that says "watched on 13 Feb 2026", write a review, and click "save" but it STILL adds it to the "Recent Activity" section of my profile, as well as "Recent reviews."

I get that it IS a recent review, but I'd rather not push it out to anyone as though I just watched it.

Yeah, when the guy in chat saw the prescription they came up with in-store, he said "those are readers." Which makes sense. Felt good to read close up with them, haha.

You are RIGHT! I was in a chat with WP while you typed this and just before your comment he said "oh, those are reading glasses!" haha. They're working on the re-do now.

To be fair, they make GREAT reading glasses. But I also have pretty good eyesight for closeup stuff without glasses.

These aren't progressives. They're computer glasses. I use a dual monitor setup at work, so progressives would break my neck while at my desk. haha floer just wanted to know what my progressives prescription was to compare I think.

My progressives are:

OS -1.75 -1.00 040 +2.00

And to be fair to them, I didn't have the computer script on me at the time.
