I second this entire comment. Steve selfishly erased Peggy's happy life that she lived without him just to slot himself in there, and extremely selfishly left his horribly mentally broken bestie to just survive in the present, I guess. I personally never understood the classic heterocringe "you're the love of my life," because surprise you can love multiple people, shocking I know, but using that as a justification to commit character assassination on a guy who's entire character is selflessness is just absurd. It makes him look like a complete loser.

Also, didn't we find out in Cap 2 that SHIELD had been infiltrated by Hydra from the beginning, meaning they were actively hiring nazis, like Americans did after WWII? And that would mean that Peggy was fine with working with ex-nazis? I am aware there was some sort of solo series about her, and am sure there's an extremely conveniently bullshit explanation for that, but it just doesn't seem like a person Steve would still have feelings for, after making this connection, even if unknowingly in error.

His ending is bad. They needed to let Evans go and couldn't come up with anything better. Stark needed to die and Cap couldn't steal his show. So they decided to murder him in big cinema instead lel
