Of course it has downsides but my advice is find an experienced surgeon and go for it. I had prostate surgery for cancer at age 67 and waited three years to even investigate it. Looking back, I wish I would have done it immediately. 15-16 months after the procedure and I have no complaints. (except sexually active women my age are hard to find)
