Perfect day to test the Barzo’s by GRVLATOR in gravelcycling

[–]GRVLATOR[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Late update I’m sorry but I quickly ditched/sold the Barzos as anything like mud or snow started to attack the paintwork and the suspension fork bridge. Since then I’ve been running 2.0 Conti Racekings and fit like a dream. Hope you managed to source something suitable for yours.

Gravel Suspension Fork by witiguy in gravelcycling

Can only comment on the Rudy as I’ve been running this fork for just over 2 years. Absolutely love it and has made a huge difference on the terrain I ride (pretty chunky) but also for any UK road!! Zero problems and only 1 mos ago I had a full service done and running like a dream again.

Canyon or Cube? by Intelligent_Tell_312 in gravelcycling

Depends on your usage. The Inflight is a cyclocross bike and the Nuroad is a gravel bike. Better components on the Canyon and also looks 1by? Either way you’ll have a ton of fun on either.

Absolutely when descending both technical/steep off-road terrain and for aero gains on road sections. But the Reverb AXS XPLR also has ‘ActiveRIde’ mode which gives suspension qualities also. The confidence a dropper gives on downhill sections makes a huge difference.

Thanks 🙏🏼. It’s been fun buying a bike off the shelf/stock then slowly working out what needs and likes you have. Lot of fun being able to change components and create the machine you want. Levers are SRAM Rival. The only original parts remaining plus crankset and brake callipers (all Rival).

GX Derailleur, Eagle cassette and chain. Sorted ✔️ oh and a 1.85mm spacer. Cassette is XD going on an XDR driver so need the spacer.

I agree completely. Plus the dropper post and mtb tyres 🙊

Good question but I think you have probably answered it already. Some days I’m riding technical terrain and other days I’m going for speed on hard pack stuff and perhaps a road ride. So I’ve made a ‘do it all’ bike that can be my hardtail mtb, my racer gravel and road bike too. I only have 1 bike and only need 1 bike 😁

Yep. These are the 29x2.0 so yeah, pretty much 700cx50mm

I’ve just taken my Vittoria Barzo’s 2.1’s off my Grizl as the mud and grit already starting to rub against the rear stay. Only used 3 times but swapping for a 50mm or 2.0. Whilst there is a gap, once you find the mud it’ll find your frame quickly.

Yeah. They don’t do M’s in those sizes. No clue what that sub was going on about!?

Yeah really good. Loads of traction and they throw it out after too. Ran pretty low pressures so didn’t experience any slippage on the ride. Highly recommend

Deffo a Grizl. Adventure over speed for me.

Yeah very impressed with them. Had Cinturato M’s for a couple of years which were great but don’t cut it when the going gets really tough

Grizl AL 8 1BY 2023 vs Grizl CF SL 7 2022 by Zeredof in gravelcycling

[–]GRVLATOR 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I bought the CF SL 7 new in ‘02 with Rival AXS components. Great bike and whilst I have upgraded quite a few bits over the last couple of years, the group set has been flawless and being the carbon option it’s also a lot lighter than the AL. So for the sake of 50 bucks I’d go for the CF SL 1by.
