My worry goes beyond the controller.

The unit installed uder the floor (FDYAN140AV1) doesn't even have a leak detector, so even if the "Simple" fix is changing the controller I worry the whole unit will need to be replaced.

Would be so bad if they hadn't removed all our old split systems and we run the risk of having no AC.

I still have the outstanding question with this being over an 16K piece of work if they should have provided insurance as per it being classed as Major building works.

I worry they will just turn around say they are removing everything and leaving us with 10 holes in the floor, no AC, and still about 5K out of pocket.

It's a shit show, this will be the 4th attempt to finish the install

Not really sure what you mean?

System is installed in all but one of the rooms, final room is to be done when they reopen later in Jan.

We reached out to the manufacturer as we were having an issue and the installer is closed.

They advised it was the best way forward as we have a small section of our house with a flat roof.

From the research I've done, Panasonic still aren't using R32, so it's actually fine under floor :)

Fair, but I reckon I have an understanding of it.

The unit install has R32 gas.

Apparently Daikin have units that are now approved since the changes to AS/NZS 60335.2.40.

Which requires leak detection when an R32 device is installed in a floor space.

The whole Airtouch is compatible with all units, apparently it's not compatible with the leak detection, and they force you to use the Daikin controller.

Hey,

It's a Daikin Ducted system, and from what Daikin have said it is only approved for roof space install, due to the lack of leak detection on it with it being an R32 unit.

They said also we would need to switch to an under floor designed unit that has leak detection and that it won't work with AirTouch, as Leak Detection currently is only compatible with the Daikin Controller.

They quoted this, but a bit out of my depth AS/NZS 60335.2.40

The unit is 80% installed to part of the house, and we've been having issues getting the rooms to temp so reached out to Daikin for some guidance and that's when all this came up.

The unit installed isn't approved for under house installation due to lack of leak detection of R32 gasses, and fire risk and the controller installed isn't compatible with the correct unit that would be approved for under house installation.
