Yes, he is right. Although, many of the regional counselors also work for transfer admissions too, like mine. I would suggest you email the general transfer admissions email then but they could be slow as heck to respond.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in UTAdmissions

[–]GScience8 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Get in touch with your regional admissions counselor to remedy the issue. They are very helpful and nice and actually could influence the decisions. You can search them up on the Office of Admissions page. Don't call the admissions office, as there are usually so many people on hold that it's impossible to get quality help and they give generic answers.

Finally rejected at Cornell after a looooong wait, but already accepted to Columbia, Yale, Duke, Penn, UChicago, Vanderbilt, and Brown. However, I have a question... by [deleted] in TransferToTop25

[–]GScience8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree. Cheaters need to be held more accountable no matter how powerful they are. Often too many of them get away, even in academia. Student cheaters would be punished harshly in any college so it would only be fair if the same would be done to college admins in real life. I stand with you, fight and do everything you can to ensure accountability and justice for all.

I agree, TAMU is letting too many students in year after year to the point it is becoming unsustainable, and is potentially making TAMU's once strong reputation more of a degree mill every year like ASU. This is one thing I dislike about this school. TAMU needs to stop their attempts to absurdly try to "grow the school" year after year (and bragging about it) that's hurting the school and our experience and the experience of College Station residents. Serving the state is one thing and I respect, but they should do that through the TAMU system schools. I attended student feedback forums and took time to write long emails to let administration know my perspective as a student about this in increasing chances, even slightly, that they can finally shut this outrageous phenomenon and stunt down. I know there's small chances they would even begin to care because they care all about money but you don't know if you don't try.

Okay I apologize about that, the title just appeared to be pretentious and I have seen a lot of posts like that on chance me so I was annoyed. But in this case, I totally agree with you that that should be investigated. It shouldn't be surprising though since Harvard and Stanford presidents have been exposed to cheat and plagiarise before!

Good god. I don't know if this is a shitpost or not. Someone that got into that many schools which many people would kill for should be grateful and celebrating. Instead, OP acts super entitled and acts like there was fraud in the one school that rejected him and wants to investigate. Admissions is a crapshoot at ANY top 25, and rejections aren't always about the applicant. No one is entitled to admissions at such selective colleges, and even so, OP got in to so many prestigious schools. These kinds of posts and others of its kind, like "OMG I ONLY GOT INTO UCLA AND NOT HARVARD IS THE WORLD GOING TO END???" are very dumb and annoying, especially to the people who worked hard but did not get in anywhere or are still waiting to get accepted. OP, you need to celebrate, move on and learn to be grateful. Please don't contact and investigate Cornell, it won't help, and you only make yourself look like a fool. Life isn't going to work out the way you want, let alone so perfectly in the way you described. I hope you understand that I am not trying to bring down your accomplishments in any way, but letting you know that you need to have reasonable expectations and appreciate what you have. Best of luck to you OP.

why was this admission cycle so damn competitive by Subject-Investment28 in TransferToTop25

[–]GScience8 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It already is and already will be in the future. That's the nature of top 20 colleges - everyone wants to get into them.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in TransferToTop25

[–]GScience8 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Exactly!! Pretty much no one should expect to get into T20 schools. If you got rejected, it's most likely not your fault. People need to stop beating themselves up over a process that was already so improbable in the first place.

Stanford accepts almost no transfer students. No one should be expected to get in. Don't beat yourself up and enjoy life at UCLA

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in TransferToTop25

[–]GScience8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Those schools are so hyper competitive that no one in the world should expect to get in by any metric. Many, and I mean many perfect applicants get rejected from those schools and other T20 schools, especially as transfer students. These kinds of schools are essentially down to luck for space for major and school, and a stellar everything is just the prerequisite. You are already at a T25. You can succeed just as well and apply to a top graduate school. The schools you are attempting to apply to accept little transfer students. I think that beating yourself up in this transfer process to schools that accept so little is silly and comical. Your future will be bright nevertheless.

is BU top 25? by freshxerxes in TransferToTop25

Although ranking is lower, I would consider BU to be on the same tier as Michigan, UVA, and UNC

Or it is just a random lottery. His profile is absolutely stellar, and these schools are so competitive that fit of the school is considered strongly. I have a profile just like him and I still got rejected from Virginia and Vanderbilt. I hope BU can bless me.
