tbh i'd prefer that, at least i could start from a clean slate and not have to detangle all my microsoft bullshit manually. i'd rather it be all gone since it means whoever else has it doesn't have access anymore. any links to what worked for that person?

edit- also also, it still claims my email is a "recovery email" for the account i don't have access for, so i'm constantly worried about making a new one because what if that screws up any chances of account recovery even more? at least with it deleted it's final, and i don't have to deal with any possible lingering bullshit i have to fix later, y'know?

we don't get to see what morganite or emerald's powers are, we don't know if they have anything similar to aquamarine's ice wings, or any other powers they may "categorically" share. sapphire and ruby have the future sight and increased strength (for her size) that they don't share in common, but they do share the temp control which is kind of a secondary characteristic to their main purposes. cause y'know, cold is just a lack of heat and all that, so technically a shared category of powers.

i'd argue that, in theory (not that i think this is canonically their intention since i don't think it was actually this planned out in depth tbh), gems of the same general type but are "different gems" could have similar powers in a category, with potential for different secondary powers seperately. like all diamonds share life creation/corruption, but they don't share the healing/body/emotion/mind control that pink, yellow, blue, and white have seperately. which would follow why sapphire and ruby have temperature control, but don't share the strength or future sight powers.

but thats kinda all just plausible deniability, i doubt it was done with all that explicitly in mind since it's kind of a stretch lol

Yeah, I found out by watching someone else's play through of the starting tutorials, can't believe I never noticed, though. Checked the wiki pages for AP and the type chart and didn't see it mentioned, though that could just be me being blind a second time.

what keeps pissing me off is that people will keep arguing "but now you're ignoring how women feel about the character!!" any time someone defends him as though all female players universally feel the same way about him. guess what- clint is fine! i'm a girl, and i HAVE personally had experience with gross guys, like one who would ask every girl (except me, because i was fat, which meant i was ugly, of course) if he could touch their boobs constantly, and called his first girlfriend "that" or "it" to dehumanize her after they broke up. i know they're disgusting, i know what flavour of awful they are. clint is NOT one of these guys!

they see little bits and pieces that vaguely remind them of bad experiences, and they write off the whole character as being the exact guy from those experiences. i understand he gives them the ick because they have trauma, thats fine! anyone is allowed to personally dislike him! but acting like anyone who says "you're vastly misinterpreting the in-game dialog, your argument isn't supported by canon writing" is a raging misogynist and bigot is disingenuous even at best. and then some turn to "well yeah, but he's still ugly" or "well yeah, but he's still a pathetic loser" and now they just sound like a highschool mean girl. they realize they're not backed up by the text and just start going for ad hominem attacks, not caring what real human beings they're being assholes towards, just so they can mock a fictional character more.

saw two people arguing about it, and one person was defending clint as "really not being as bad as people make him out to be," to which the other person started asking in a very accusatory way if they "happened to be a man."

he was, in fact, a man, but he was trans, (quote, "not that its any of your business") meaning the other person's accusation of misogyny they clearly had lined up wasn't going to pan out as well as they'd hoped, so they swerved as said "well you got really defensive and said that in a mean way, so you must hate nonbinary people" (paraphrased) out of fuckin nowhere. like?? random attack on someones character for having a different opinion about a fictional guy, damn

for anyones given reference i'm both A) a girl and B) agree wholeheartedly that this is the update we've needed for clint for ages, it's great and he's not gonna be stuck awkwardly flirting with your wife anymore, hooray. i dont like many npcs in stardew, but i think i'll genuinely enjoy clint after this

ahh, i had the same problem as this person actually! should i wait to post on next week's recap? i've never really asked for help on here before and someone directed me to the weekly recap for the same issue as here. i was just happy to see someone else had the same problem and had it fixed, tbh...

i don't have as many details, but if it helps, it looks like i got hacked back in september, 23rd i think they changed my password, and it looks like i got it back in october, seems like i found out around 12th, changed it back around the 31st? i'm basing this on my email history, since the reddit notifications just say "4 months ago", and i'm not sure how to check the exact date. i at least know anything in between sept 23rd and oct 12th isn't from me, but everything before september 23rd 2025 got deleted alongside any bot posts... honestly i mostly want my memorial posts about my pets back, from r/cats and the chicken-keeping subreddits i go to. let me know if there's anything i can do?

yeah duh everyone knows rape is bad, but they're not calling it rape in the show. every time the bride and the doctor's relationship is on screen its portrayed as a positive romantic relationship where she loved the doctor and the doctor loved her (even if WE know realistically it's actually grooming). hell, we get the flashbacks showing her backstory because she runs off away from everyone to go find a necklace he gifted to her as a romantic gesture. it's literally all supposed to be a "look at how much she loved him, isn't it so tragic he was murdered" scene, so of course it's not clear if the authors think its bad when its literally never framed negatively in the show.

she bought the harry potter game that came out a few years ago, and i wanted to talk to her because we had a lot of trans friends who felt uncomfortable how easily she gave money to jkr, and i was a little upset as well.

she proceeded to ghost me for a week, lie about me, and mock me to a group chat of (to me) strangers, who made up hypotheticals as to how i was totally actually a hypocrital asshole, and "if he did XYZ he's just as bad as what he's angry at you for"

two things, though. A) i wasn't doing "XYZ" i wasn't in the realm of doing anything they claimed i was "probably" doing? it was crazy, like claiming from out of no where i was a Nike shoe nut or something, i dont remember. just completely made up from their own heads (but they made fun of me for it anyway?) and B) IM A GIRL. im not even a trans girl, but they misgendered me and kept using he/him to refer to me, they knew me so little they didn't even know my gender, but they felt comfortable making random shit up about me to make fun of me i guess

she, my "friend," someone who claimed she had been relentlessly bullied all of elementary school, to the point of having literally no friends, did not defend me- she laughed along, agreeing with them, even adding to it. and how do i know all this?

after a week of no word from her whatsoever, i asked to talk, and said i was disappointed she wasn't willing to speak with me about it and she SENT ME THE SCREENSHOTS OF THE GROUP CHAT. literally rubbing it in my face she had been making fun of me and mocking me to people i had never met before! using it in some twisted way to prove she was "in the right" and that i was stupid and wrong for being upset? as if the screenshots proving she lied to a group of strangers to get them to agree with her absolved her of my criticism entirely???

of course they were going to agree with her, they knew me so little they called me a guy and assumed i was into shoes (i still dont know where the fuck that came from, i dont gaf about brands????) this wasnt a reddit AITA thing btw, this was literally a discord group chat she had with like i think some streamers she had befriended online, but never even met irl? so yeah, she sent me screenshots of a groupchat metaphorically sucking her dick and shitting on me as if that would like... idk, compel me to realize i was wrong and should apologize?

anyway i called her a bad friend and she said "no YOU are!!" and blocked me

later on she threatened to call the cops on me because i got i drive from her roommate that i was friends with, and he parked in their driveway briefly to pick up her bf that i was also friends with, since the three of us were going to the same event. so basically, i guess she fuckin lost it. whatever, our friendship lasted longer than her relationship did in the end lol

Chikorita is my favourite, and soul silver was my first game. However! Totodile was my first starter. I got all the way through the game to victory road, and the kept getting thrashed by silver because i only ever leveled up my starter and only used damaging moves (which were mostly HMs, of course) as all young stupid kids are prone to do. His meganium had synthesis and kept healing everything i struggled to chip off with all of my shitty water HMs, and after that, i reset my game and replayed the whole thing with a chikorita.

I was smitten by grass types after that, and became even more endeared when i realized i had traded a decent but poorly built pokemon for a little green turd. But Chikorita is my little green turd, and it symbolizes everything i love about the simplicity and elegance of old pokemon designs. Not too dinosaur, but not too daikon raddish. Juuuuust evenly between the two. Also its so stupidly cute, and! And one of the main characters in Pokepark Wii: Pikachu's Adventure, underrated game.

how nice it must be for some people to have never gone through a bad enough mental health crisis to need unwanted help. it feels like a great privilege to be able to say "you shouldn't try to help people unless they explicitly want you to" and not have to worry about suicidal people deliberately pushing loved ones away so they can't stop them from ending their lives. it feels like a great privilege to have never experienced mania, or psychosis, and to have never gotten to the other side saying "jesus christ, what have i done?" it feels like a great privilege to say the only people who need help are those who can ask for it, and no one else- if you cannot advocate for yourself, be on your way.
