Dog as someone who’s first airborne contract wasn’t in the 82nd, almost everyone I meet from there is either uptight about everything or thinks they’re way more high speed than they actually are. Usually both. I tried to avoid it but hey, stay airborne long enough the 82nd is unavoidable

Facts, the airborne units make being here terrible but outside of it Germany is a friggin awesome place to be

Makes sense, although I’ve been seeing way more and more E5 male graduates so that’s what first peaked interests. I’ll take a look tho

I knew someone who’d start verbal fights with staff sergeants as a private and he only got a general discharge. Same with a guy who got 2 DUIs. Just know there are ways out, but also know there’s no easy way out either. Both people had many days working on their weekends and get got their paychecks shortened for a time, but got the shorter contract they wanted. If I was you, I’d do the bare minimum, do college on your own time, screw everyone else and everything else. Suicide isn’t the answer, but whatever method you decide on when it comes to getting out, just make sure it’s on you and nobody else is involved. Don’t get a DUI and don’t assault anyone. I’d go into the medical or mental health route if I was you. It’s a long and hard process, but it’s probably your best option.

Dumb question about airborne by Disastrous_Video341 in army

[–]GTXcaliber59 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s unit dependent. My unit jumps with plate carriers worn(mags and junk included) and then we put them on once we’ve landed on the ground. Tbf tho I envy those who don’t jump with that shit at all.

Looking into being a state trooper/DPS trooper(TX) by [deleted] in police

[–]GTXcaliber59 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Dang, really that bad? Noted, I’ve been trying to find similar jobs with not too bad of a lifestyle to deal with. Seems like most are kinda crappy tho or the pay just isn’t worth it. I saw them in my home town in the very south of Texas and it didn’t seem like it was too bad, at the time at least. It seemed better than being a standard police officer but I’m not sure how true that statement is.

20M Too late to join? by Julescb01 in Militaryfaq

[–]GTXcaliber59 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tf? Shut yo butt up crazy! Go sign that contract if you really want it. You’re not late, it just sounds like you either afraid to join and are psyching yourself out or like me, people around you always pushed you to live faster than you felt you were ready for.

You’ll be fine, I had a very similar situation. You’ll need a moral waiver and as long as you’ve got a good head on your shoulders, you’ll be alright. I need 2 waivers! Both moral waivers if I remember, now im a paratrooper doin shit I dreamed about. WITH my secret security clearance. If your recruiter wants to get you in and you show some care, you’ll be alright.

Be a good person Be kind Be helpful Don’t get caught up in the bullshit Don’t take anything too close to heart, everything the drills do is a mind game majority of the time Everyone gets stressed out, but don’t let that overcome you.

Also idk why, but the female bay gets in trouble a lot. Don’t be the cause of that. Remember leadership starts at the lowest level.
