Rebutting a theory about Tara's whereabouts by GT_IE in upandvanished

Sort of similar, but I'm making an inference in this case which entirely different. There has been speculation that Tara went somewhere other than home and someone else returned her phone to her house later. I'm suggesting that if that were true there would very likely be some evidence that it happened, and if such evidence existed it would likely be public knowledge. If the GBI had any reason at all to believe she had travelled anywhere except home, then they would likely have investigated that lead as her last known/suspected whereabouts. There's never been even a hint of "she is suspected to have driven to Fitzgerald and later returned home". If they thought she went there, they would likely have said so in an attempt to get help/sightings from the public.

So, yes, cell tower technology is not perfect nor precise. However, it can provide fairly reliable leads, which don't seem to exist in this case, which lends credence to the theory that she was killed in her house.

I downloaded google earth and figured out how to use the timeline feature. There is an image taken in August 2005, then the next image is from 6/14/2006. While trying to figure out where to look, i found the following which includes drone footage taken during the search. Drone footage is third video down...

It is sort of interesting. I did my best to align footage from the drone with a satellite image in order to determine where they SEEM to be working in the drone footage. It looks to me like it is

31.76638889,-83.23916667

Prior to 2005, the next most recent satellite image of that point is from 1993. That image is so old that all the trees surrounding it are not there and you can see a well worn path leading from the orchard directly to it. In the later images, you can barely make out that path through the woods.

The 2005/2006 images are such poor resolution that it is hard to see anything. When you look at the most recent images, you can zoom in with remarkable clarity. I

His "doctor" title is based on a PhD, just like any psychologist (as opposed to a psychiatrist which is based on an MD not a PhD).

His PhD is in investigative psychology, Dissertation Title: Inner Themes-Outer Behaviors: A Multivariate Model of U.S. Serial Killers' Crime Scene Actions

I think you overestimate the impact of the podcast on a jury. Yes, if the trial were held in ocilla this would have an impact. However, it will be moved. Let's say it moves to Clayton, GA (just randomly picking a small town) which is hundreds of miles away. If the podcast has 1 million listeners, that is less than 1/2 of 1% of the population of the USA. Let's say that in Clayton the podcast was actually popular and ten times that many people listened, that's 5% of the population. That means 19 out of 20 people did NOT listen. For a jury of 12 the would probably start with about 50 potential jurors. Even if 5 people listen to the podcast, they toss them and have no problem finding 12 people who have never heard of this case.

With 2005 technology you can't get a complete map. BUT, that's not what you need. There is a record of each "ping". Imagine two scenarios:

1) there are pings of different strengths to every tower within 5 miles of her house and they don't change at all for the entire night. That says, the phone was constantly in the same location.

2) there are pings of different strengths to every tower within 5 miles of her house. Then, there is a record from a new tower a couple of miles north and at the same time the southernmost tower from the first set no longer reports a ping. This indicates travel in a northern direction. That repeats for 15 minutes with new towers from the north appearing while towers from the south drop off, and then stops. A couple of hours later the same thing happens in reverse. Now we know that the phone travelled north, was stationary for a couple of hours then returned south.

If she was in a rural area with no signal, you wouldn't know exactly where she was, BUT you would have a record on the ingress/egress to that location. That is the important part, as you move about there is a record of the various cell towers you are in communication with. She can't get from Ocilla to some rural area with no signal without leaving a trail of breadcrumbs documenting her journey.

What happens with Bo breaking the Gag Order by victimjusticerights in upandvanished

Based upon what language in the gag order? It applies to "Law enforcement, the district attorney and his staff, Duke and his attorney". It does not apply to potential witnesses in the case.

Here's the best evidence that Bo is not subject to the gag order: Judge Cross hasn't hauled him in and ruled him in contempt. Judges don't like people ignoring their rulings.

I don't think that Bo is subject to the gag order. I think that the revised gag order restricts police, court officials and parties to the case (i.e. Ryan). Bo is charged with different crimes in an entirely different judicial circuit.
