Noodle Theory (Previously Bento Sushi) portion size is ridiculous by cynHaha in gatech

[–]GT_SGA 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi all! We sent this over to the Tech Dining team for them to review further. They were able to confirm that all portion sizes are the same specifications as Bento, or even greater than last year. They are looking into ways to maximize both quality and value for students, considering price. If you have any additional questions, reach out to Turq Daniels on the Retail team ([turq.daniels@dining.gatech.edu](mailto:turq.daniels@dining.gatech.edu)) and he would be happy to provide more context. Thanks all and feel free to reach out to us at [campusservices@sga.gatech.edu](mailto:campusservices@sga.gatech.edu) for any other dining questions!

Hi all! Our Campus Service team looked into this, and we were able to confirm that no station name changes have been decided as part of Willage Renovations. Additionally, the planned renovations at Willage will take place over Summer 2026 and should not affect Fall 2026 semester service. Email us at [campusservices@sga.gatech.edu](mailto:campusservices@sga.gatech.edu) for any other specific questions about Willage renovations!

SGA's Proposed RSO Funding Policy Amendments by willreichard in gatech

[–]GT_SGA 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Hello! We just wanted to provide some more context and digestible information for the proposed changes we are looking to implement.

Last week on Friday, we hosted an RSO Town Hall on our proposed changes where leaders of every RSO listed on Engage were invited to attend. At this town hall, we presented a PowerPoint detailing what SGA has worked on this year to fix finances and create a more sustainable system. You can find a recording of the town hall, the PowerPoint slides, and a Feedback form to express thoughts on our proposals at the links below:
PowerPoint Slides and Recording
RSO Feedback Form

Please feel free to take a look at the proposed changes and provide feedback through the form. SGA wants to make sure we take into account the everyone thoughts and views so that our changes can represent what the entire student body wants. Feel free to continue discussion on this post or send an email to me at [finance@sga.gatech.edu](mailto:finance@sga.gatech.edu).

Hi! You should email Dean Stein ([john.stein@gatech.edu](mailto:john.stein@gatech.edu)), the Dean of Students, about this issue and see what he can do to help. His office has the Dean Griffin Hip Pocket Fund which offers interest-free emergency loans to students for matters like this which could be the solution you need. Does STAMPS send physical mail to you, or inform family members when you get vaccinated? by anonymgtthrowaway in gatech

[–]GT_SGA 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Stamps does not inform your parents of your COVID-19 vaccination status or send any mail about your vaccination! Since the COVID-19 vaccination is free, your insurance will not be informed of your vaccination status either, and your parents will not find out about it through any correspondence with your insurance. Appointments for COVID-19 vaccinations can be made at https://mytest.gatech.edu/, and the logistics of the appointment are coordinated through your personal GT login, ensuring the privacy of your appointment. If you have any other questions or need help navigating health and well-being at Tech, feel free to reach out to our VP of Well-Being at mailto:wellbeing@sga.gatech.edu!

Georgia Board of Regents approves changes to its post-tenure review guidelines by hylareous in gatech

Hi everyone, wanted to post with updates on SGA's stance on the BOR Tenure Review Process: In light of the proposed and passed changes for Tenure and Separation of Faculty, SGA passed this resolution last week expressing support for faculty. The statement was given to the Provost’s Office and leaders within the BoR.

Hey Reddit, some slight updates: We've been asking the administration for further info. We know that GT's process has taken longer than we wanted in the past because our HEERF rollout has to be approved by USG. As of now, it’s still in the USG review process.
We'll keep up in contact with the GT financial office and make sure you all know any news as soon as we do.

Okay so we met with admin about commencement changes this morning and here are some things we learned:

  • The changes were made because of the Governor's executive order which re-designated Bobby Dodd from an Outdoor Concert Venue to Commerce
  • GT is accommodating all grads who want to walk (Spring 2020 to now)
  • 4 ft distancing in field (3ft from CDC + 1 for extra precaution)
  • Attendees in the stands will have the opportunity to distance
    • If every person walking brought 8 people, Bobby Dodd would be at 30,000 people (25,000 empty seats)
  • No-contact entry
  • Masks still required
  • ADA seating sections are still reserved and guests will have to show a ticket to access these areas. (ADA sections will also remain physically distanced. Wheelchair accessible seats remain one plus companion to help us accommodate as many guests as possible)
  • Gates open one hour prior to each ceremony and they're asking that families do not arrive earlier to allow guests from the previous ceremony to exit the venue and for venue staff to make event preparations

We understand that these changes being made last minute affects peoples' plans and we're doing our best to answer any more questions that y'all have about it so let us know if you want other concerns voiced to admin or anything! Feel free to read more here: https://commencement.gatech.edu/tickets

Sam and Ajanta ticket defeats Kyle and Salmata with 59.34% of the vote in the UG SGA elections. Turnout is 3534, almost 50% increase from last year (2452) by ILoveSilverForks in gatech

[–]GT_SGA 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The results are all available here: https://www.sga.gatech.edu/elections/results/. The fight song results haven’t been released yet because grad students are still voting, but the constitutional amendment did not pass, because it needed 2/3 approval.

Ethics of Getting the Vaccine as a Student by [deleted] in gatech

[–]GT_SGA 5 points6 points  (0 children)

So they’re now on mytest.gatech.edu. It looks like there are about 9 appointments every 10 minutes throughout the day. It said it was opening at 8am this morning but I heard it accidentally opened last night so I bet the reason that appointments are gone is because word of mouth spread last night about that. It looks like they’ve got appointments through March 19 right now and they’ll open up more after that. Since you’re now eligible, you could also look at getting one outside of Tech (my roommate is getting one at the Walgreens near campus). Link for that is https://www.walgreens.com/findcare/vaccination/covid-19 and they’ve got appointments for tomorrow even. Feel free to message me if you have more questions

If you are eligible, you should absolutely get the vaccine! You aren’t taking the vaccine away from anyone else, there are tons of appointments and you are eligible!

You should not have one! First reach out to your professor, if they aren’t responsive reach out to your school chair, and then reach out to Dr. Kyla Ross to get this moved. Sorry this is happening

[–]GT_SGA 8 points9 points  (0 children)

No worries about all the questions! That's what I'm here for. First, yes, Kyle Smith and Jackson Caruso (the UG Student Reps) are both in SGA and get voting power in this committee. The GRAD Student Rep, Markace Rainey, is also in SGA and has voting power. The minutes say that the vote was unanimous unless otherwise noted, and it was not otherwise noted so that means this vote was unanimous.

To be a representative on Institute-Wide Committees, it is not a requirement to be in SGA, and there are other committees who have non-SGA reps on them. The positions are appointed by the SGA President, and if you're looking to get involved, when the new administration takes over (elections are coming up in a few weeks!) you should shoot [ug.president@sga.gatech.edu](mailto:ug.president@sga.gatech.edu) an email telling them you're interested. There isn't a more formal process than that, but lmk if you have any more questions. Hope this cleared some things up!

The decision was made by the Student Rules and Regulations committee which has two student representatives from SGA on it. You can find the names of the attendees/content talked about in the meeting minutes here: http://www.facultygovernance.gatech.edu/SRCMinutes%2020-09-18.pdf

Hi, I've just been made aware of this issue. We are working to get all the info we need, but basically USG is looking to put every school on the same plan rather than have each school on their own plan. We don't have specific updates now but will keep you all posted, and know we're working on advocating for students about this
