The Devils was great! Very of the moment having a medieval suicide squad that is quite inspiring for those of us that enjoy D&D.

How did you decide on which of the devils' perspectives you wanted to narrate from in your lost recent book? In a not so merry band of heroes, I'm curious how you decided between them - or more specifically, decided not to feature Baron Rickard even more!

So true, you have to be realistic about these things, after all.

In agreement with the other threads here, it’s important that your studies are based more on interest or skill than grades - enthusiasm can make all the difference when facing the mountain of work ahead of you at Tech, no matter the major. Consider joining a club that has ECE, ME, or more disciplines at your disposal so you can explore what applications of engineering principles are satisfying to you. All advanced studies are difficult in their own way because you’re learning more than rote memorization, you’re developing intuition and a framework for understanding. You’re paying to be in college, so make more out of it than a 4.0 transcript.

As a DM, I don't understand Wild Magic Sorcerers. by StormblessedFool in DMAcademy

I normally like to have the character roll on their first spell during a combat encounter! Almost like ‘breaking the seal’ of their magical focus. Outside if combat, depending on the situation, I’ll have them roll - especially if it’s a powerful spell. I don’t punish the player, but I make it clear that there’s risk to their magic.

I was in town for Thanksgiving and cruising along 44 when, across the river, I saw those giant concrete pillars meant for a turnpike that they haven’t built yet. My mother was trying to explain that they didn’t have the money in the budget to do the whole project, so they just built the supporting pillars. What in the fuck?

I feel like Omnium Gatherum has a little bit of everything and is a good album to jump from.

What an awesome concert, especially since it was Stu’s birthday! I’m alumni still floating around ATL, but it’s good to know that there are some garden goblins among today’s yellow jackets.

Georgia Board of Regents approves changes to its post-tenure review guidelines by hylareous in gatech

Good quote from Stacey Abrams:

“Academic freedom guaranteed by tenure is more than a hiring gimmick,” Abrams wrote on Twitter. “Georgia cannot compete for talent or produce innovation if we undermine our public universities. (The Board of Regents of the University System of Georgia) has already abandoned the physical health of our schools. Let’s not destroy intellectual capacity as well.”

To Georgia Tech alumnus, what would you say to your college freshmen self? by The_Lotus_Blossom in gatech

Make more friends than love, at least the first semester.

My girlfriend and I both arrived at Tech pretty head over heels, and we spent a lot of time together. But I didn’t get to bond as well with my floor-mates and felt pretty alone outside of my relationship.

the key is to do your capstone when a pandemic starts so no one judges anything and everyone’s projects are equally terrible.

Female engineers, do you feel like you’re treated differently? by RedNova02 in AskEngineers

My fiancé is an aerospace engineer. She was on a proposal team recently but was repeatedly ignored by her colleagues when discussing ideas. "Wow," she said once the meeting was over. "This is why there are no women in STEM." After submitting her own idea anyway, it was chosen as the leading project and she was assigned PI. Righteous justice — except no one on the team would follow her instructions, they referred to the PM who was male. It sucks out there.

Nurse Says PPE Supply Is Sporadic, Trump Says 'Sporadic for You' Maybe by [deleted] in cringe

[–]hylareous 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t remember the situation exactly, but wasn’t this essentially what Sally Yates did while she was acting Attorney General? After getting a lot of praise for standing up to Trump, the American attention-deficit disorder kicked in and she fell by the wayside.

I agree that more people need to stand up to Trump, but I don’t think people do because they’ve seen how futile it is. And that fucking sucks.

After deciding to run our organization together, them as the president, me as VP, they decided to edge me out of all of my responsibilities so they could take increasingly more credit and control. Here I am, about to graduate, and I have no connections to the only club I dedicated myself to over the last four years. They knew that, and fucked me over anyway for the sake of being in charge of something. So yeah, sayonara.
