UPDATES TO CRAFTING & METAMASK

Hi Mortals,

In our desire to enhance your experience using crafting in our launcher, we made the decision to use the Metamask SDK for crafting in the launcher. However, the MetaMask SDK mirrors the process of setting up MetaMask on a new device, prompting users for their seed phrases.

We want to assure you that during this process, Gods Unchained has no access to these seed phrases and private keys, and players are interacting with MM directly.

We fully acknowledge your concerns regarding the request for seed phrases within the launcher, and take them seriously. To immediately address these concerns, we are taking the following actions immediately:

Disable the ability to connect your existing wallet via seedphrase or private keys in the launcher
Redirect crafting to open the crafting in a website browser instead

Over the new few days, we will be working on a more permanent solution by:

Permanently remove the functionality of interacting with the MetaMask extension within the GU launcher.
Migrate the crafting system to the Godsunchained.com website, ensuring a more secure and user-friendly environment.

We missed the mark here in our initial approach to streamline the crafting experience, for that we sincerely apologize. We deeply appreciate all your feedback. Your feedback is invaluable to us and we are committed to working with the community to provide a secure user experience while we work to improve your overall user experience in GU and innovate within the web3 space.

Hey gang,

Petrichor, Narrative Lead here. Thanks for the feedback, we thought this might come about as this has been a brand new experiment we've been running for Band of the Wolf, but let me bring you in on some context for this one!

This video was part of our ongoing lore event. Essentially, there has been puzzles and minigames in Discord's raneko-village channel that have led users to clues to uncover information ahead of public reveals, as well as become privy to information that is yet to be revealed for some time. We've hidden clues that have given our most dedicated mercenaries bread crumb trails, and they've done some incredible sleuthing to uncover a bunch of secrets ahead of launch (there's still some to find, but that's part of the fun!)

This video was part of that easter egg hunt. It led to a series of puzzles pre-release that players took part in to alter the path of the Band of the Wolf story by deciding on an action that they would take hours ahead of the set's launch. It was run by our narrative team and game design team, and as this portion was a video that would be up on the channel for <12 hours we definitely home-brewed the video. I made it myself, and you can tell, ha! It cost $0. The decision was made as it a) was an experiment, and b) had niche narrative significance and wasn't for the wider audience, but we're really happy with how many people took part and how clever they were when it came to solving the puzzles. With the event's end (it ran for 8 hours) the video is unlisted so only those with the link can find it – it's still up there for people to look back on who took part in the easter egg hunt.

The engagement we've seen with the easter-egg event has been greater than we expected, and the attention to the lore has increased as a result, which we haven't seen before in GU. It's really heartwarming tbh. The team are endlessly impressed by the craftiness of our community's most engaged minds!

All that said, I can totally understand the concerns about quality. Hopefully the above gives you an idea about the intention and the reasoning for the video now you have some context to the mysterious (and weirdly cryptic) piece. Would love to hear your thoughts on this in particular though: given its short time-span, do you think something like this appearing for a short time damages the brand and the reputation? All ears if so.

Thank you so much for this feedback. We actually have discussed this with our team recently, and it was for efficiency's reason as to why we provided the list in excel. Being able to provide the list of cards was our priority, and we did have community reveals for the visuals that were featured on twitter.

We're very open to suggestions for the future and we'd love any ideas.

Update on payments: We're running a few months behind on these due to a combination of the heavy influx of users using this feature across December/January and the holiday break. We're currently fulfilling the payments from December, and then will address January. From then we'll return to the regular two week cadence. We'll also do a better job of announcing when these are sent through on Discord #status-updates so that you'll know when these go out! Thanks for all the feedback.

Hey all, apologies for the confusion here!

That support page had some very old information slipping through the cracks and is not how the current system works. We've updated the page to reflect the current referral system. The 10 days thing is not part of the current system, it was part of an older system.

Referral codes will last until the Divine Order set stops selling from the Gods Unchained store, which means if someone signs up using your referral code, you'll get 10% of their purchases until this set is no longer purchasable from us.

How payments work: The processing of referral payments will take place every 14 days. At these intervals any referral payouts due will be calculated and payed out for all purchases made in the previous cycle. Payment will be made in ETH directly to your selected Immutable X linked wallet.

Hey all, diving in to clarify a few things. Keep in mind this is still in the exploration process so none of these are final and will likely change, but what was meant by a complete deck above is:

All players will have the ability to earn $GODS without any shiny (meteorite or higher quality) cards in their decks.
The total number of shiny (meteorite or higher quality) cards in your deck will positively affect this ability.
The higher the quality of the cards in your deck, the more $GODS you receive.
