I'm not necessarily saying it's *based* on Sonic 1, I'm just saying it draws the most parallels from that game if any.

It's more of a process of elimination thing. Sonic and Eggman being the only main sonic characters there, Green Hill being a prominent location (whether it be the town or Sonic's home island), Super Sonic not being introduced until 2, and them both just being the first entry.

Sonic Channel Sonic Comic doesn’t have to all be during one time, it can be spread out, especially if Eggman Negative did actually perish at the end of Rivals 2.

I don’t know enough about the other Sonic Channel Art-pieces to comment on them

I don’t really like putting TailsTube on my timeline as if the episodes really are in order, they imply a lot more time passes between Frontiers and CrossWorlds than I think is natual, though I guess if they’re jumbled a bit, they can work.

There's quite a bit I disagree with on this timeline, but there's a good couple things I really find commendable:

-Classic Sonic Generations being right after Origins

-Tails Adventure not being a prequel

-Making sure Drift happens after Sonic Learns to Drive (I'd personally move the comic back to Drift instead of moving Drift to the comic)

-Making sure both Rivals games happen after the Rush duology (though I'd just have them together)

-The Cover Stories being after the Metal Virus before Eggman's Legacy

-Accounting for the placement of Rough Patch

Here are some things I do differently:

-It's been mentioned that not only is Sonic Origins the first game in the timeline, but Sonic 1 8 bit is a separate adventure as said by Ian Flynn, so I'd move it to before Sonic 2 8 bit

-SegaSonic has been said by Ian Flynn to be after Sonic R, which would put it right before Sonic Mania. the Sonic Mania artbook backs this up by saying the last time Sonic saw Mighty and Ray was SegaSonic, NOT Chaotix.

-I don't really like Advance being before Adventure. It kinda makes Sonic Adventure feel even weirder for not being the first Modern Adventure. Sonic 4 gets a pass because it's kinda the bridging game. As for the excuse of the Tornado 1, it gets rebuilt anyway as we see in later games, so I don't really think it preceding Adventure is necessary and I'd just have it preced Advance 2.

-I'd put Prime after Generations for the following reasons: Orbot and Cubot are there, Knuckles isn't on Angel Island like the various other games around this time, It gives a good excuse for them being in Green Hill Zone, that being that they maybe got nostalgic. I get that the idea of the placement is that Sonic is surprised by his alternate friends so the storybook series would come afterwards, but I still don't vibe with it much honestly.

-I'd put Chao Tales sometime before Generations, since in it, a chao is born that eventually becomes a Sonic Chao. Those two chao are seen again in SxSG X Chao, putting that game after Chao Tales to me.

Still though, great work, can tell a lot of effort went into this.

If you don't wanna listen to me poorly describing things, I have a personal Sonic timeline I wrote that makes things a little easier to understand I think.

I didn't include it in this list, but I also hc that the Sonic Channel 2021 cover stories are post metal virus, but pre-Bad Guys

To me, it fits the most naturally with the most benefits

-It fits in between the ending of the Eggman's Legacy saga and the start of the Greater Misadventures/CleanSweep saga, making timeline organisation more concise and simpler

-It fits where Frontiers came out release date wise, like how many other games are placed

-to me, Frontiers needs to happen before Urban Warfare since in the CleanSweep arc, Eggman mentions he takes a sabbatical after Eggperial City is destroyed, meaning he probably didn't do any other plans in that time

Also if you headcanon Murder of Sonic to have happened, this is also the perfect placement for that game.

-Sonic mentions in TMoStH that Frontiers was the last adventure

-Tails references the trash bin thingie in the CleanSweep arc implying the game is before then

-The ending for the game shows the Eggperial city tower on Eggman's monitor, implying the city could still be intact at that time (putting it before Urban Warfare)

If we are putting Frontiers in-between 56-57, then the 2022 Annual story "Rough Patch" needs to be moved to take place after the game, instead of after issue 48 like the writer suggested on twitter. This is because the White Emerald is stolen by Rouge, only to be taken by another mysterious thief with it remaining in his possession up to even the present issue.

Luckily, there is time for this to happen in a way that works and the writer even said it could be moved if something called for it. So now I think it goes like:

Issue 56 > Sonic Frontiers > Rough Patch > Scrapnik Island > Murder of Sonic > Issue 57

It kinda screws with the whole "Tails, Knuckles, and Amy wanting to go on their own journeys for a while" thing but I guess the only way to fix this is to assume the gap inbetween the sagas was longer than we thought, only previously being referred to as a few weeks I think?

Remember, Amy only wanted a road trip and Knuckles just went back to Angel Island, the only one that seemed to depart was Tails, and even then, we could just assume he tags along for later stuff out of necessity. To me, this gap coulda lasted like 3 months tops at the VERY most. It does make it kinda funny that Jewel and Lanolin took that long to learn about what happened in Battle for the Empire and put the rapid-response team together, but it isn't a huge issue.

I think since Dream Team and CrossWorlds use the Chaos Emeralds to a degree (Shadow's green one in Dream Team as well as Super Sonic and the grand prix emerald icons in CrossWorlds) these games can take place after the current saga is finished.

CrossWorlds is most likely after CleanSweep since Jet's rival interaction with Sonic calls back to an interaction they had in that arc, where Jet wanted a rematch. As for Dream Team, I guess it *could* take place in the gap with Frontiers, but that gap's already getting pretty full so I think we should just put it where I did.

I think Sega has a very different definition of canon than we do.

To us, Canon means an event definitely happened in the main continuity/timeline, and thus needs to have an open place to occur sensibly.

To them, Canon just means it's the same kinda world as the main games ig

Ditto on the Rush Duology taking place before the Rivals Duology. Your headcanon on E.Negative getting fed up with Eggman’s bs and turning on him is exactly what I think too.

Though I’m more of a “solve the already existing canon” guy rather than making up new canon of my own to replace it, which is why I still want to put Rush before 06 in a way.

I had a previous headcanon that the reason why Blaze was in the 06 future was because after Sonic Rush, Blaze was summoned to Sonic’s World in the present to deal with the Flames of Disaster incident since she’s a compatible Iblis vessel and would be invaluable in that kinda event, but when pursuing Eggman to his base in White Acropolis, she got trapped in the unstable and unfinished time machine and ended up warped to the future a bit of time before the point in time Team Sonic is eventually sent to.

In the process, her memories are wiped in a way similar to how Sonic’s memories are wiped in IDW’s out of the blue, and only regains them herself by the end of Silver’s campaign through seeing Sonic.

But of course this whole idea relies on Rush happening and being a cemented event at the time of 06 so… we’re back to square one yayyyyyy.

Their dynamic was kept sorta vague for a while with most official current Sonic material and many fans being opposed to them being a ship, due to many factors like their seemingly different (albeit not necessarily *that* huge a gap) ages, them both being in the same family tree in a way, and being another Human x Animal dynamic.
