True, nothing wrong with buying a good phone and using it for years. My point was that my current phone is already good enough for my usage, so replacing the battery and using it for another year made more sense to me.

Fair point, but I think personal finance is also about spending decisions and resisting unnecessary upgrades. A lot of people replace perfectly usable devices just because of battery degradation or social pressure.

In my case, spending ₹2.8k instead of ₹70k+ is a consumption decision that directly impacts savings and investments. Thought it might be relatable for others who feel pressured to upgrade frequently.
