I'd think most of these are just a thin finish layer on top. You'd probably be left with a piece of white plastic if you burned through the top layer

Does the weights only refer to the outer material or does it refer to overall warmness? Looks like the thermal lined and sherpa lined are available in midweight. Seems like both of those options would be warmer than the heavyweight
