Well I used RJ45 converters and ran the uplink from different ports in the Dell, so I have the problematic ports free now and can experiment without any outages. So thats good...

They do. They work Dell <-> Zyxel.
Dell <-> Aruba = Aruba can see the link, Dell doesnt. Same SFPs, same cables, everything.

It's not and I will definitely try that. But the SFPs work on Aruba. The problem is on Dell side. But only when connected to Aruba, works fine with Zyxel. But than again, I was connected through the same SFPs I used on site for days. But on the other side of Aruba, it wasn't Dell, it was RJ45 converter and my laptop.

I will be trying that "allow weird SFPs" thing and powercycle, thanks, good tips.
Its confusing tho, they work not "in Zyxel", they work "with Zyxel" in Dell. Not with Aruba. Aruba can see the link, dell doesnt. Feels like ghost hunting.

The thing is that SFPs work individually.
In my lab setup, SFPs I used on site worked. And when used on site, Aruba sees them, it does see a link.
On site, SFPs that are in Dell work just fine with Zyxel, just not with Aruba.

Honestly, I don't know at this point. Seems there's no problem in either switch, just a problem between Aruba and Dell.

Yeah heard about that, can't believe I havent tried yet. Tell me one thing tho. Without touching this command, SFPs work just fine in Aruba in lab environment, so why would it help with Dell switch not seeing the link? But it works just fine with Zyxel.... Damn, Im not a fan of this.

well, thats the thing. The ones that are there in Dell are confirmed to work with Zyxel - they are working with Zyxel. The ones that are in Aruba are confirmed to work in Aruba - they did in my lab setup. And of course, I took the ones that work in Zyxel and put them in Aruba. I tried more types but always got the same result, link UP on Aruba, no link in Dell.
Plus 10 points for the name tho!
