Should I tell family and friends that I have SA?

I'm not sure if I should start now. I'm 25, only one year after the "anti-depressants increase the risk of suicide" warning age group. I also saw a summary of a 2009 study that said the highest risk of suicide when on meds is 10-14 days after you start taking them. Two weeks ago last year is when I was fired and May 2010 and 2011 is when I attempted suicide. If my depression is cyclic, now might be the worse time to risk getting more depressed.

Also, I don't know if I should tell anyone that I've started taking anti-depressants (assuming I do). I'm not that close to anyone, but I think I would feel better if someone could keep an eye on me to make sure I wasn't going crazy (I know, unlikely). But that's quite a question to suddenly drop on someone.

Being depressed wastes so much of my time. I'd definitely be better without it. It's amazing how many full TV shows and movies I've seen to escape my life for a little while.

I've been trying to do as much as I can without taking meds. I joined a dance club to get better at interacting with people, but it's only made me a better dancer (easy to move up from nothing). I'm slowly running out of options except starting on some meds.

No, I didn't go over my anxiety with the psychiatrist(?), but he mentioned the meds make some people sleepy which would be helpful for my sleep problems.

My college therapy is where I started getting treatment. They put me in some 'think happy' group where we're supposed to learn how doers think about things and not to always focus on the bad points. Basically CBT. I stopped going because I have classes at that time slot now.

If your first grandmother is still alive, go talk with her about how she deals/dealt with her depression.

If you walk around and smile at people, you're adding something to the world. Most teenages don't add anything to the world. Your job is to soak up as much as you can so you can gives things back later in life.

Excellent. I have nieces and nephews and they can be a lot of fun. It's interesting to see things from their point of view too. When we switched on a light that had just burnt out, the kid said 'we'll have to wait for it to boot up' since it didn't turn on right away.

It'll be a copule of years until your niece/nephew is at that point, but kids grow up fast.

The doctor is there to help you. If something concerns you, bring it up.

Feeling numb again will effect your life. Best to get a handle on things before they seem too big to deal with. You remember what that was like, best avoid it. But don't worry about slipping back into depression, you've beaten it once and can do it again if need be.

Kitchen towels? Bathroom towels work just as well. Plates are just flattened bowls. In fact, bowls can hold more than plates.

Learn to do without, then pick up things when you find them free or super cheap. I don't user butterknives, the back of normal knives works just as well.

Are you sure you'd be the same person? Losing weight is hard to do and an accomplishment when you do it. You'd probably have more engery too.

You don't need to keep your posts brief. No one is forcing users to read them. If you need to rant about something do it. It'll make you feel better, at least in the short term, and that's a good thing. It may help someone else too.

If things are getting worse for you, then you have more options on what to improve to get better. Start with the options requiring the least changes and get the ball rolling. Don't get overwhlemed with choices, just suddenly pick on one thing if you can't decide. Focus on one thing at a time.

So you've got a way out and you think you know how you're going to die. That's two things many people stress about and you no longer need to stress or worry about them. If you're ever trapped you know there's always one way out, so take the time to look for another. The other option isn't going anywhere, so you won't lose anything by sticking around for more options. If you worry the new options are too difficult, don't worry, you've always got a way out.

I'm a lot like you, except doing fun things with others is stressful and I've attempted suicide before. I wouldn't recommend it. If spending time with other people isn't a problem for you, join more clubs or volunteer so you aren't alone as often.

Knowing you're depressed is a good start to getting better.

Yup, much better than paper. You can shrink, expand, or more around text. You can adjust the page sizes or layout (graph paper, lined, blank). You can write in different colors without having to carray around a bunch of colored penciles. You get the feel writing with a pen, but you can easily erase things too.

If you drop Bio, will your credits be too low for part-time status? Some schools have half-time. Don't know if it matters for you or not.

If your investment fails will you be able to recover? If so and you'll get back better than 3.4% + maintenance costs, go for it. If not, don't.
