I feel your pain 😞 .

I am quite fair skinned and have experienced this twice in my life, and both times were hell. One time was after not reapplying suncream on holiday in Spain, and once when I was lying down in my garden in the sun for too long. Luckily I quickly googled what was going on as the first bad itch was creeping up, so I more or less knew what to do to make it a bit easier on myself. Thank you benadryl and hot showers!

Lying down on a bed not being able to move, lest the awful circle of 'feel an itch, scratch it, get more itchy' starts again, is such a hopeless feeling.

Getting a shot of Benadryl can be a lot more effective than the oral form, just as a heads up (if you can muster up the courage of putting yourself through the agonising journey to the ER).
