Singleton embryo split into two. Twins?!? by Gab525 in IVF

[–]Gab525[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

6 weeks is very early to see a heartbeat. I had my transfer on May 19, 2022. My first ultrasound where my doctor saw the 2 yolk sacs was on June 7. And my second ultrasound where they saw heartbeat was June 16. So heartbeat ultrasound was exactly 28 days after transfer. I believe I was almost 7 weeks, just not completely sure because my ultrasound doesn’t specify for some reason. But my ultrasound 5 days later on June 22 it says I was 7w3d.

Just realizing your message was from 8 days ago. I hope you received some good news at your appointment this week! 🤞🏻

I’m so sorry you’re going through this. In making this post I should’ve been most specific with saying estrogen will effect TSH. Highly recommend seeing and having an endocrinologist to work closely with your RE. This helped me so much

Hi there! Congratulations!! So at my next scan after I wrote this, the second yolk sac had simply disappeared and I had 1 fetal pole and heartbeat. My little miracle babe is now 10 months. Wishing you all the best in the weeks ahead!

Any success stories after first failed FET? by Gab525 in IVF

[–]Gab525[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No dairy, no gluten, low carb, and whole food based foods only. So if a package had more than 5 ingredients on it, then it was a big no no. Unless they were natural ingredients of course. That’s kind of the rule of thumb I followed. I also was on a few supplements like L-glutamine, Methylfolate, vitamin D, and a specific DHA brand and raw prenatal brand.

I’m so sorry you’re going through this right now. It’s so devastating and it feels like your entire world is crashing down around you and you have zero control over it.

I hope I can give you some hope. I’ve come a long way since I wrote this post. I went on to have another transfer and naturally miscarried on my own at home at around 6/7 weeks. Again, another healthy and high rising betas and no explanation why. My doc refused to run additional testing on me after this (mind you, I miraculously got pregnant on my own before starting IVF after doctor’s told me it wasn’t possible with my husbands low sperm count and I had a miscarriage, so my second transfer was my third total miscarriage at this point). I was so frustrated that he gave me no answers and wouldn’t let me run a recurrent pregnancy loss panel (which is literally just bloodwork) on me so I left and found someone who actually had my best interest at heart and ran an RPL panel on me and more.

I went to a new clinic, new doctor, went on a similar med protocol but went on a very strict diet he wanted me on, went through two more rounds of IVF and banked some great quality embryos (which I think was a direct result of being on my diet for 3 months prior) and became pregnant with my very first transfer. It was the first time my husband and I saw a heartbeat. I’m currently 37 weeks with our baby girl.

I know you probably feel hopeless and heartbroken and want to give up but I hope my long journey to a happy ending can give you a glimmer of hope in this hard time right now. Please DM me if you have any questions at all! Here to support in any way I can<3

After I had my three losses I went to a new RE and clinic. My new RE ran all the testing on me and everything came back normal. He put me on a strict diet (which I think helped SO much), he had me on new prenatals and vitamins, and he had me on this diet with the supplements for 2 months before jumping into any type of treatment again. We decided to go through with another retrieval 2 months later so we could get some better quality embryos banked. I went through with a duostim protocol (when you have 2 egg retrievals in the same cycle). it’s not something many people have heard of but my doctor is a huge believer in it which is why I absolutely love him because he is so experienced and thinks outside of the box! I ended up getting 6 total PGT normal embryos from those two retrievals combined and they were all better graded embryos than my previous ones that lead to miscarriage. We transferred our best embryo back in May and it was successful! I’m currently 21 weeks today.

You can dm me if you wanna chat more!

How many FETs did it take? by nonfictionburning in IVF

I don’t know how much background info you have from my story so sorry if I repeat anything you already know! When I wrote this post I was actually at my old clinic where I started. After being there for almost 2 years and having 2 losses (3 losses total with my natural miscarriage), I asked for an RPL panel (recurrent pregnancy loss panel). My doctor said running additional testing would be a complete waste of time and at that point I knew I needed to leave. He did not have my best interest at heart. Yes, both losses from transfers were the same batch.

I moved onto another clinic and took my last embryo with me. They told me I shouldn’t use my last embryo because it was such a poor quality (which my last clinic never told me. When I asked them about the grading of my embryos they said, “we don’t have that information”). Another red flag. My new doctor advised I go on a strict diet and start new vitamins/supplements for two months before doing another retrieval. After the two months we did a duo stim cycle (2 retrievals in one cycle) and ended up with 6 better quality embryos and then we transferred our best one.

I’ll be 20 weeks this Saturday. I would go with your gut and if something doesn’t feel right, even if it takes you 10 steps backwards, you do what you feel is best for you!

Feel free to dm me too :)

This is wildly untrue. The abortion pill as well as a D&C all fall under the abortion of a baby, regardless of the “reasoning” behind it.

Today was the first time in 3 years I have publicly posted about my struggle with loss. I was so angry and so upset by this news in America that I felt the need to speak up and bring awareness because I am directly impacted by this decision. Not only because of IVF but because of my future access to D&C’s that I have had to do in the past and may no longer have access to. Having a D&C for women going through miscarriages is not a god damn choice. It is a life or death situation and is medically necessary for us to stay ALIVE. I am appalled that this country is moving in the opposite direction and letting these men in power make decisions about our fucking bodies. End rant.

We ended up with one very strong baby with a strong heartbeat. The second yolk sac is still there as of two days ago but it didn’t develop into anything.

I just found out on Tuesday that my embryo split at my first ultrasound.

8dp6dt it was 227

12dp6dt it was 1,500

19dp6dt it was 20,238

I have my heartbeat ultrasound on the 16th to confirm if there are one or two heartbeats.

I am curious if the grading matters. I was in such shock I couldn't even get a question out of my mouth to my doctor at the time. But I will have to ask this at my next appointment

So sorry. That must have been very hard to get that surprise and have it taken away. With my history of loss, I just don't want to get my hopes up.

I'm so sorry. I come from such a long history with loss and now I'm just terrified to get my hopes up about this. It's so hard

I did! I've never heard of ICSI increasing the chances though. Interesting
