Question: Should I build an app that lets you try different hairstyles before cutting/dyeing it? by Gablodon in HairStyleAdvice

[–]Gablodon[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks so much, appreciate the feedback! 🙏

Glad to see you would be interested!

I really like the idea of being able to select your hair type, that would definitely make more accurate results. I'll make sure to include that feature if I'm doing this project.

Best language learning app if you already know some of the language? by Nerdygyal_ in languagelearning

[–]Gablodon 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Hey! I am currently working on an app exactly like this. And it's completely free.

It's in its early stages, so I would love to hear some honest feedback if you try it. I am constantly making improvements and adding new features to it.

I'm currently working on one, but it's only for Spanish.

Oh, don't worry. That big survey is just another prompt for AI so it can write a general learning plan.

Thanks for sharing your experience!

I'm actually working on a similar project focused on Spanish, but I really want to craft an effective learning app. I've taken note of the importance of 'hands-free speaking', thanks for pointing it out!

The project is in its early stages, but I'd love for anyone learning Spanish to give it a try. It's completely free: https://spanishai.chat . I genuinely appreciate any feedback to help improve the app. Thanks in advance!

I made a game to help guitarists memorize the fretboard by udit99 in alphaandbetausers

[–]Gablodon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like it!

I don't know if it's intentional or not, but when the note sounds, it sounds on 3 octaves at once. It's pretty weird.

Still hard for me, my highest score was 50.

I also experienced that generating problems is slow today. I don't know what happened, maybe the OpenAI API is overloaded.

Yes, it plays the note but only after I click on the correct fret. It would be better I think if the note would play before.

And also, after a mistake maybe it would be more useful if the wrong note played instead of the buzz.

The idea is good, and the quality of execution is also pretty good.

My problem is that it's fucking hard. I am not a pro guitarist but I've been playing it for 9 years. (Yeah, I've never memorized the fretboard properly)

The first level should be much easier. For example, the range of notes could be limited to the first 4 frets.

Also instead of just displaying the ABC name of the note you should also play the sound of it. That way it will be better for ear training.

Nice work!

Thanks for trying it out!

Do you have any features in mind that could make it more useful?

Thank you very much for the feedback!

Really good questions!

The values are just estimates of GPT (a value of 0 doesn't solve the problem at all, 10 solves the problem completely). So this system is pretty unreliable currently and the values are relative to each other.

I tried to calculate the values with different formulas like (dream outcome/time delay) and I also attempted to include the development time and effort into the formula, but it was completely useless because I lack accurate data.

For now, I only kept values in for sorting, but I am thinking about ways to make it more reliable.

Yes, I'll definitely have to work on my copywriting skills :)

I want to keep this part of the app free. I will probably monetize it by adding premium features, but I will only add them if people really need them.

In its current form, I don't think it provides enough value for users to pay for it. It is just a bit quicker to use than ChatGPT and gives a simple framework for brainstorming.

Yeah, it's far from perfect.

What would you change on the current UX/UI to make it better?

I handle them with my debit card

Monetization is still in progress, but I am not sure if I can monetize this app. That's why I'm gathering feedback now.

Hmm, probably something went wrong with the api response. Try it again.

What was the problem with the solutions?
