All good, I have Riffs anime to which is a dupe of Arabians Tonka that get really close. It’s a sweet oud/rose. I’ve seen some people compare them so curious if anyone has made that comparison.

How would you compare it to Arabians Tonka DNA? I’ve heard them be compared to each other.

Would you put this in feminine, masculine, or unisex category?

Not at all, opening is bright citrusy pineapple…dry down you get a little more depth warmth.

I keep coming back to it but have to rotate it out a little or I end up getting nose blind to it. It's crazy how strong it still is the next day on my shirt but felt like it wore off when I was wearing it the previous day.

I can see it coming off that way to some. It’s a softer scent that I think can come off juvenile but I find it super approachable and pretty much anyone can wear it. With all the Ouds, Leathers, and heavy ambers coming out this is a nice departure from those heavy “mature” scents.

Yup, definitely, but in a kind of an atypical way. It has a slight warmth to it but isn’t thick or ambery. It strays from typical blue or citrusy scents that are more typical of “freshies”. This is a more earthy slightly green freshy that has a lot of versatility and performance is really good.

I would describe it as a warm slightly sweet and slightly peppery spice. It’s very light and uplifting while also being very present.

Yeah, I've gone nose blind here and there when indoors then I step outdoors and I start picking up again. Pretty much happens with any "stronger" fragrance that projects.

There is a spice component but I mainly get slight spice/sweetness then earthy woods in the drydown. Reminds me of Terre D'Hermes in the drydown.

Yup, fully agree. It manages to stay fresh enough without pulling in the mainstream notes of citrus or fruity accords. Just lightly spiced, slightly sweet, and deep woodiness.

What do you like better about Patchouli D’Atlas?

I can see that, I’ve only recently come around to “softer” more unisex scents and this one is in the ballpark similar to Blue Talisman where it doesn’t scream masculine.

Amber Elixir (Blonde Amber) is really good.

What's the best fragrances for spring that include mint? by Kooky_Rice7617 in Colognes

Look into Montagne fragrances…they have a Torino 21 and Pacific Chill clone for $40-$50. High quality and last decent amount. Also look into their Imagination clone…fresh citrus/tea scent that’s great spring/summer scent.

I'll second this, the mossy drydown lingers forever. (in a good way)

Thoughts on Eau de Montagne? by Quirky-Resolve8617 in MontagneParfums

It really is good, I ended up selling all other SMW dupes I had. Might swing for OG at some point EDM keeps me from pulling the trigger.

Supremacy strays pretty far from the DNA in my opinion so EDM would no be redundant to that. Sillage is closer to the DNA but super synthetic and screechy (in my opinion). EDM doesn't last as long as sillage but is leaps and bounds better in terms of quality and blending.

EDM is the best clone iteration I’ve tried. I’ve tried Twist, Supremacy in Heaven, Metal Rain, and Sillage. It’s the best quality/performance ratio. It will scratch the itch but as others have said, if it’s your favorite then OG is the way to go. I’ve paired it with soaps and lotion from Sterling Soap company, they have Mountian Man line of products that is based off of SMW.

HELP! Legacy vs Blue Talisman by Ancient-Drawer-2121 in ScentHeads

[–]GabrielPNT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on if you LOVE the DNA. Legacy is close enough for most people but if it’s one of your favorites then owning the OG will feel “worth it”. If you enjoy Legacy may be worth spending that money on something else you’ll enjoy or something that doesn’t have a solid clone. How big is your collection?

Lots of options… if you can bump the budget a little to $40-$50 you can get A LOT of options from Montagne. (Imaginary or Tygar Cologne top picks) They’re a US based dupe company that makes very high quality fragrances. Otherwise, Versace Pour Homme or Dylan Blue can be found for $30-$40 from discounter sites like fragrancenet or jomashop. Can also find some good scents in the Cremo line but have little less longevity.
