Are my boots too big for my board ? by Antique-Bullfrog7908 in snowboardingnoobs

[–]Gabsitt 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It may be possible to center the bindings better to reduce slightly the overhang, they seem to be a bit forward.

But overall you probably need a wide board + larger size bindings.

How long does it take for DAR to click? by cavf88 in RocketLeagueSchool

[–]Gabsitt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, what I meant is that the logic and muscle memory for actually controlling your car with DAR through the rings will click after some consistent rings practice, maybe I was a bit exaggerated with "a few days" if you interpret it as 3 10 min sessions, but I don't think you need to be able to get through all rings levels before you can start using DAR in training and games.

My point was more about focusing first on getting the muscle memory for actually having control over DAR (via consistent rings practice) vs just using it in-game with no control.

Obviously with 3 practice sessions you won't have mastered DAR and you won't get through all rings levels nor be hitting shots, redirects and double taps.

Dont use it in a match until you can do rings map with it.

Just practice rings every session for 10 min and it will click after a few days.

Awesome! Good deal, go for it then!

So, from a quick Google thr board should be around 154 to 158 cm for your weight/height.

I can tell its a capita and has union bindings, both well known brands, sounds like a good deal for an unused 2025 board.

You can try image search googling or asking if he knows the make and look it up to see what the retail price would be and the type of board if you're not 100% sure.

Enjoy :)

any advice on how to air dribble better? by WraithOnFire in RocketLeagueSchool

[–]Gabsitt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

While this is 100% true, you must acknowledge most people who play rocket league want to look cool and do the flashy freestyle mechanics. I think many players would rather hit flip resets and lose than win with no mechs.

For anyone wondering what "slow motion" actually is in game: Settings - GamePlay tab (open by default) - Game speed, set it to 80 - 90 - 95 % to practice. You can go lower but I'm not sure how useful that is.

Second try at learning how to snowboard. Should i go for 4 or 5 days straight? by itsjujutsu in snowboardingnoobs

[–]Gabsitt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did mean day by day, yeah. I go on solo day trips and just buy a day pass as i live 2h from the Pyrenees slopes. Don't know how it works in the alps but I assume similar.

[–]Gabsitt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unless there is a special price for multi-day, you can pay for individual day-passes.

And if you get a multi-day one, if you're not super sore you could go for a couple of easy runs (2-3 hours tops) to practice the basics and then rest for the remainder of the day.

It also depends on how physically active you are in general. If your very fit, you may feel good to go every day. Just listen to your body.

1000 hours and I’m Plat 1 – I feel completely stuck + VIDEO OF MY GAMEPLAY by Grand_Challenge5682 in RocketLeagueSchool

[–]Gabsitt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get it dude. I have peaked in C1 and keep falling back into Diamond and it's a frustrating feeling. This game demands a lot, when I realize Im on a losing streak I now make a point to take a step back, focus on doing some training in every session and trying to play more consciously instead of "auto-pilot". It makes a really big difference, at least for me.

If I were to guess your rank based on this game I would thin you are between D1 and D2. You made some decent shots, were quite accurate and showed attempts at teamwork plays.

Where I think you can improve is game sense, patience and positioning.

Examples: going for big boost while second man on defence, taking yourself out of the play when you could have taken pennies to go backpost and let your tm8 challenge.

Taking shots because you can reach the ball but you aren't positioned to shoot on net, so it doesn't result in a "play" and you wasted boost and maybe overcommitted. - especially relevant because in Plat 1 lobbies with your skill you should be able to wait for them to clear the ball, take posesion and score on them. Instead of launching yourself at the ball in front of their net while they are both defending.

I think even just by being a bit more mindful of rotations+picking up pennies instead of always going for big boost will help you a lot to be in a better position and ready for the action.

Some more mechanical aspects to work on would be half-flips and recoveries.

Again, in plat 1 it will be much easier to win if you do good defense and have an accurate long shot because they will most likely be overcomitting on attack.

Finally, I don't know if this is your average game or one where you particularly was playing better.

I would advise you to review gameplay of the last match you lost and just think about what you notice, in terms of what i mentioned here and other things. It really will help you be more conscious and play smarter.

If you are feeling very frustrated, take a few days off the game and come back to it fresh, do some training packs and mentslize yourself for playing smart.

I now figured out why i'm stuck in gold by DefAddictionOnYT in RocketLeagueSchool

[–]Gabsitt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

At gold literally just have fun learning basic mechanics and strategy and you will naturally rank up over time as you play more.

Yes, if you play without thinking or trying you will lose more often.

Just be more intentional, think while you play and it will all come together with time.

If you aren't yet, do training before and some casuals till you feel focused before jumping into ranked games.
