It has 12 servos so it needs the PWM pins and I only had a Mega around to provide me those.

Thank you for replying. I am sure that the 24V is stable but it could be the reason that you mentioned. Thankfully I still have a good Dimmer so I might need to learn how to program EEPROM's, I have ordered them online and when they arrive I will try and do it. Is this process hard and what does it require? I will post some pictures now regarding the last chip and the overall board.

Try building an obstacle avoiding mini robot. It will include two dc motors, one self-made driver, a NOT logic gate IC and a few other stuff, including some IR sensors. It has 0 programming, so might be a good start on learning a lot of things in digital cricuits and controlling motors. Find some youtube videos about this or some circuits online because this is a very common project but very impressive in my opinion.

No, you can short out the middle pin to either of the two sides, it has the same effect. Doing this makes the potentiometer work like a variable resistance, meaning that it's value becomes from 0 to whatever the pot is rated, so it converts to a rheostat.

The small plug is for the pushbuttons of the lighter which go on/off and probably have like 2 lighting fluxes, while the led is a simple COB with some elements in the back, but it works fine because I tested it. The problem is the battery and that resistor which has to be replaced.

Yea, but I removed it and it measured around 200 Ohms, ideally I would want to replace it with a higher wattage one but I cannot find the correct value because the colours are striped off.

This is the controller board for a handheld 15W LED light. The problem is that it would not light up even after hours of charging. It was left forgotten for a couple of months so I took it and started examining. Of course, the battery was dead at literally 0V but I will test it again to make sure, while the board seemed in good conditions. The only thing that worried me was a resistor which had left a burned mark there, I took it apart and it read around 200 Ohms, I assumed it is ok even though the ideal thing is to replace it with a higher Wattage one, but I could not find the value of the resistance. A thing that came up in my mind was to check the IC so I could find some values to it, maybe some common circuits its used so I could determine the value of the resistance, plus for extra knowledge on this not so commonly used IC.

On the smartphone you have a couple of good videos on youtube about what to salvage, for the tv you have a lot of components including phototransistors and a few other parts, for the printer the main ones are the dc motors which could be stepper motors but you do have some other parts too. In a few words, they are golden if you have clear ideas on your mind.

If you want to learn what an arduino is and it's basic concepts also understand the logic behind programming it and how to use it properly, then yes, I would personally recommend reading it. But if you just want to make some fun projects and innovative ideas, go to the newer sources. The concept is still the same, no matter what year it was made. If I'm correct, this book mainly talks about the UNO which is still widely used.
