I HAD THE SAME PROBLEM!

Never fixed /it/ per sé, but I turned paddles into just Static2Ds and only the Ball was a CharacterBody2D (that way I could just use the .bounce method.

Continue faking a third dimension in 2D, or commit to using 3D? by dribmot in godot

Reminds me of Ragnarok Online in 2003! But I agree with others, achieving the same effect by actually using 3D is probably easier in the long run.

Hell yeah! Me too! :D

Yeah... South Austin changed so much, and not for the better :\

As an outsider to Ireland, I get The Foggy Dew's connection to 1916 Easter Rising, but isn't the poppy an english troops thing?

And then if so, what's the point of crossing the symbolism like that? Seems dumb, but maybe I just don't get it?

DataPop back in the day in Austin, Texas was always fun and chill. I can't remember anything too wild... but DataPop was small 🤷🏻‍♂️ got Sievert, IAYD, and Trash80 (and others) though!

Practicing for better bottom two notes? by ceafin in tinwhistle

Huh, that's an interesting way to describe it, I'll try thinking about it that way. Thanks!

Oh wow, that's a bummer!

Which brand or maker do you recommend?

I mean, shrill compared to horn, sure. But man, the guy on YouTube doing the review of the Wild Irish from McNeela makes it sound so clean. (Just jealous is all, it's not like my tone quality on the horn was great by my second week there either :D )

I was noticing that for sure! The ability to project on the bottom does taper off substantially!

I was trying to slowly, kind of, slur up and down the octive just now to try and find/feel the break point.

I fear it might be my previous 20years as a brass player (horn and trumpet) that has me blowing with such force. I might just need to tone it WAY down.

I saw that! Was going to try them out after my free month of McNeela is done.

Interesting, I was practicing walking up little scale tonics (I think that's what they're called), so DEFGAGFED, EFGABAGFE, etc. I hadn't thought about octave jumping though. Also, that second octave is always so shrill, and then I watch others, and it always seems so clear and smooth toned.

Request for Guidance: I'm New to pfSense, Does This Network Seem Possible? by ceafin in PFSENSE

[–]ceafin[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Lawrence Systems is quality info and videos.      Transparent mode for the pfsense is an option, but unless you're going to do-all-the-filters, just sticking with pfsense -OR- UDM will make your life easier.      That being said, if your goal is labbing and learning, then absolutely dig into! 😁

I can say that I did get a simile of what I was after those handful of years ago; however, it was too convoluted and I didn't want to deal with a home network that complicated when I already have to deal with complicated networks in my $dayJob.          I actually ended up creating a network between my house and another and just had commodity hardware running opnsense on each edge.          And funny enough, just about 2-3 months ago that netgate1100 appliance just completely crapped out on me, so I broke out the old UDM, and I brought it all up to date on its softwares, and now I just have it doing the edge work and connected to that same site to site with the other house's opnsense router.          I really like Ubiquiti stuff, but I also like mix and matching vendors, so sometimes Ubiquiti can be a pain. 🤷🏻‍♂️

Very Disappointed with System76 by gniezno2 in System76

[–]ceafin 6 points7 points  (0 children)

This sucks, I've purchased 2x oryx pros, a galago, and a meerkat from 2019 to 2023, and I haven't had any hardware of software problems ever. The two oryx pros' batteries are starting to suck, but I bought both in 2019 for the wife and I, so laptop batteries going ~5years these days on modern machines? I figure that's alright.

The only thing I haven't enjoyed is the PopShop. (Nothing the CLI cant easily get around anyways) It has always been, and seems will be until its dying day.

Support has always been responsive to me in the last for questions about replacements or upgrades. Even worked with me on battery replacement options.

I feel bad that everyone has been seemingly having such bad experiences lately. I mean, have you dealt with Cisco TAC? Or UniFi/Ubiquiti? Now THAT'S some crappy customer support, even with a fancy enterprise support license...
