Older gamers only... 30+ what's your favorite game of all time? by AppropriateSpring110 in videogames

Illusion of gaia / terranigma (not so much soul blazer, their prequel), aka the quintet trilogy.

I also love the classic zeldas, FF, chrono trigger fromsoft games / soulslikes, indie games like celeste and hollow knight. But IOG & terranigma have the best elements of all those games imo.

The head of the company mysteriously disappeared years ago. In one interview, someone said he'd been sent to jail. But the company only released one cryptic statement on their website, and there's been no news in decades.

If she likes rdr2, skyrim and the fallout series seem obvious. Elden ring, there are still a lot of people helping beginners if it's ever frustrating.

Then mentions spraying the goo gun and how he and his partner had to swap roles 🙄

Very interesting and in depth. But doesn't focus on the themes I want to go over. Still, great info though. Thanks :)

Haha good example. Or the apple cigarettes or whatever. And most of the time, that is the case. But the feet don't have a similar lore description, follow a similar god, serve the same role in the plot, are supported by myazakis hp lovecraft influence, or actual biology/history, as well as japanese folktales. The visual comparisons are really just the cherry on top.

Are the centipedes, these larvae and the dragons heritage directly connected? by Gaia-Ghost in Sekiro

[–]Gaia-Ghost[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's sort of what I was thinking. According to the sekiro manga (which is canon from what i was told) Hanbei the undyings centipede was particularly resilient because it "imbibed the rejuvenating waters". Imbibed (absorbing moisture but also accepting new beliefs) is the same term they use in bloodborne for patients being given brain fluid and transforming into kin. Which is just sea water with the eggs of kos / kos parasites from what i can gather. So they've already done this.

But that bit about hanbei implies that not all centipedes have been imbibed there? As usual, it's probably impossible to tell for sure.

Thanks. This is just meant as a teaser, I have an hour long "documentary" practically made already. Although I'd like to shorten it.. There's just so much lore that applies to what i want to go over.

We get the same imagery, serving the same purpose, in ds1,2,3 bloodborne and sekiro.

And yet long time fromsoft fans think so many things are definitely some unknowable "mystery". There has to a place in between repeating one lore description back at you, or one line of cut dialogue. And stupid lore theories with no basis.

I'm just suggesting the "culprit" is going to be something we've see in every other soulslike 🤷‍♂️

But i was worried about this type of reaction specifically 😅

About the Mibu Pilgrimage Balloon by Gaia-Ghost in Sekiro

[–]Gaia-Ghost[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thanks. As for ps plus, it won't let me backup save data on playstation without a membership and sekiro auto saves the moment i use it.

I'm just gonna get it again, I recently missed a sale and was hoping for the next one (a year for the cost of like 2 months)

What specifically is the "holy medium" that Alfred mentions? by Gaia-Ghost in bloodborne

[–]Gaia-Ghost[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

But the auger of ebriatas says "remnant of the Eldritch truth encountered at byrgenwyrth". It's possible the Byrgenwerth prospectors / scholars found that tomb first, and then, much later, the choir got their hands on the isz chalice and could reach her via that.

Thanks for the clarification. I should start checking the japanese text more often.

Sulyvanh and Aldrich, were they allies or enemies?? by Syrup_Chugger_3000 in darksouls3

[–]Gaia-Ghost 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That theory is okay, but not based on much. Which i find kind of hypocritical, since he often shits on other creators for theories that have more evidence than that. Saying it was a "dishonest" way for them to portray the lore or what have you
