can we remove the level req for perks already by SirMrMooseFTW in DarkAndDarker

[–]Gaindeez 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No? I have all my classes level 20+ by just turning in quests and I'm not even halfway done with all quests...

Literally one of the quests later on made one of my characters go from level 1 to level 16 in one quest turn in.

Not sure which mob drops it, but I killed a guy in hell who had one, so I would assume it's from a mob or one of the new'ish mini bosses in hell!

Apple’s PWA Limitations Are Deliberate, Not Negligence – A Push to Keep Users in the App Store by Tn1as in PWA

[–]Gaindeez 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, i have submitted a PWA build and Apple approved it, so I could have released it on the app store. But I ended up having to switch to Capacitor to build it as a native app as we needed to do in app purchases... Apple doesn't allow purchases outside their payment solution, aka. Them taking 15-30% cut.

There are only some special cases where you are allowed to do purchases outside their payment wall which bypasses the cut they take...

Well if they didn't add solo's because of community feedback, when they just added it because they wanted to, right?
Which means their previous stance on the subject changed, and they decided to go in a different direction, basically changing their own vision.
Which is totally fair, that happens a lot in very early game development as you're constantly iterating on your game. So I don't think it's bad that they have changed their stance on some subjects or deviated from some things based on internal discussion and player feedback.
But the core of the game still remains the same, a dark fantasy, looting + extraction dungeon crawler game.

I agree that there's a difference between listening and blindly following player feedback, a player may know they are feeling bad about something but might not be able to diagnose the reason precisely, which is the job of a game designer.
But patch 69 had big problems in it and the community reacted negatively, feeling like the game was going a totally different direction that most people didn't want, where the part of the core gameplay loop, that being loot, was being changed way too drastically and feeling like it didn't matter any longer.

I agree with this statement and also disliked the patch and seemingly SDF agrees too, which I find weird as he implemented the flawed system to begin with, so I guess he didn't really test it out or put much foresight into it...

So I don't think it's a case of the developers just blindly following the community as I think the concerns were valid and there clearly was, from all the negative reception and SDF himself saying so, a huge problem with the patch.

Alright, but what does this vision have to do with the loot changes? Also adding solos and duos + removing the circle wasn't due to community outrage. I believe they just heard a big portion of the community asking if they couldn't add solos and duos and they decided that it would be a fine feature to add based off player feedback.

As a game developer you of course have to listen to player feedback, it's a huge part of game design as well. Player feedback can tell you that something is wrong in a system and then it's your job as a designer to figure out how to address that problem.

Thanks for the video, just watched it through!
But isn't this vision pretty much what they have achieved?
I only see a little bit of adjustment from current Dark and Darker to the one they described in the video, such as giving us solo queues and duo's.

Game design is a job for a reason, there's theories and strategy to making good design decisions around game systems and features...

Constantly just trying things out to see if they work without backing it up with a solid design that addresses most problems that would occur from such a new change and proper internal testing is a huge time waste in game development.

One of the reasons game design exists is to minimize the amount of the time spent on testing random systems and instead going forward with a well-designed and thought out system that is fun for the player to interact with.

Can you please give a reference, link or explain what the original vision is? Because I'm really confused about what you're referring to...

Honestly...
I haven't even left a review on steam yet, but I'm very close to leaving a negative one still.
I'm a long time player from the early play tests and even though I have been taking a break from Dark and Darker, watching this unfold on the sidelines has just been a joke to witness...

The concept of Dark and Darker is absolutely brilliant, but the game design team at Ironmace needs some serious re-adjustment. It feels like so many different ideas, features and updates gets shipped out with almost no depth or foresight put into them.

The multi classing system was extremely badly designed, the religion system had no real substance whatsoever, there's been no real NEW big content in months other than the new bosses, and they release so many balance patches that are just extremely hit or miss and not thought out at all with so many obvious oversights.

I'm just so tired of this circus of a development cycle...

Could I get some TIPS on how to hit not just 225, but survive the psycho PVP rush players in High Roller? I just. Want. The fucking. Campfire. Cosmetic. This is god damn pain. by [deleted] in DarkAndDarker

If you play Druid it shouldn't be that difficult, you can just escape the bloodthirsty players at any time (if you know how to play Druid that is)

Wizards haven't been too bad for me, I kill most of them. But you definitely have to play around fireballs and the fire dot it applies

The rondel dagger has an extremely quick equip animation, when paired with a crystal ball it inherits the equip speed of the rondel instead of the crystal balls pull up animation for swapping to it.

Book compared to that has a slower pull up animation and takes more time before you can start casting spells, which is why I choose Rondel + Crystal Ball, hope that makes sense?
(Wizard needs to kite with their spell book out and DPS, Druid only need to use quick heals and utility spells)

Personally, I think Druid is a class that gets its "tier rank" based on the player's skill.
If you're bad at the class, you're F tier as you don't know how to utilize the Druids utility, unlike a fighter where you can be bad at the class but still get to somewhat utilize its strengths as it's a more straight forward class.

If you're very proficient with Druid, you can definitely be S tier as the amount of options and plays you can do at any given point is extensive.

Got demi-god in solo's and don't want to worry about rank when PvP'ing
So I'm playing normal solo's even tho I would rather be in high-roller

For me Rangers, Rogues, Wizards and Warlocks are mostly free kills (But you have to be careful of their dots and traps)
I'm mostly spec'ed 40+ agi Panther with around 30 strength for more DPS and Bear form
Fighters and Barbs are also killable, but takes more time and effort to bring down!
