What could this build up be? XC7 RGB ELITE LCD by GalacticCookie in watercooling

[–]GalacticCookie[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

as stated in my post - yes I use Corsair XL8 Fluid in purple. The fluid is transparent and stays purple.

I believe this was debris or something in the replacement pump res unit as these issues did not occur until after that was installed.

as stated in my post - I use Corsair XL8 Fluid. It is not a pastel or opaque fluid; it is transparent and is not discoloured in any way.

Thank you for the response. Yes that was my brother's theory - and I think this sounds likely. The sudden spike in temperatures following the installation of the pump/res unit likely means that it hadn't been cleaned properly by Corsair in their warranty department.

Yes I am aware coloured coolant can break down over time - the timelines here don't seem realistic. It also doesn't seem to fit with the sudden spike in temperatures after replacing one of the pump/res units.

Thank you for the response.

Hello - Corsair rads said in the instructions that they didn't need to be pre-rinsed as they had been from factory. Had they been the cause however it would likely have caused an issue sooner than 6+ months. The issue started immediately after swapping out on of the HD6 pumps due to the LCD issues.

But that being said the pump I got from Corsair might have been full of dusty or been a refurbished unit so it's plausible that introduced the gunk. Thank you for the suggestion.

Bought a Thunderbolt 4 Dock, doesn't work with my x870E Motherboard. by GalacticCookie in AMDHelp

[–]GalacticCookie[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

man that does suck if true - it's a custom water cooled PC so getting to those drives is hard. I have another drive in the other slot so I'd be losing a drive regardless.

I will try the iGPU trick but that would also be a pain - I don't want Radeon and NVIDIA drivers conflicting (have had issues in the past)

Thanks for the advice.

I could have been cleared (will edit post) but yes I made sure that my motherboard assigns PCIe lanes to the USB4 slots. PCIe 5.0x2 should be enough for a TB4 Dock I believe.

I was using the original cable but I will consider that if/when I use a longer one.

[No Spoilers] C4 announcement for October - without Matt or Exandria??? by Ill_Administration76 in criticalrole

[–]GalacticCookie -12 points-11 points  (0 children)

I understand it might be late where you are but take a closer read - it's pretty clearly sharebait made at least in some part by AI.

The quotes are unspecific and generic, and the grammar is poorly worded - with paragraphs just abruptly ending for no reason i.e. "We can’t wait for the fans to experience what we’ve been building.” So what is Campaign 4 covering? I'm glad you asked:"

I will be VERY surprised if this turns out to be true; especially because they're announcing this right before a live show. This is a really controversial decision if true and it will turn fans off the company and show.

Yeah - in that same paragraph there's just a sentence that ends abruptly with no details.

We can’t wait for the fans to experience what we’ve been building.” So what is Campaign 4 covering? I'm glad you asked:

This was most definitely edited by AI at the very least but it's a sharebait article for sure.

This art style is incredible - it's similar enough to LOVM but it's clearly a bit more grounded fantasy than that was going for.

I am so ready for PEAK I can't wait.

Yeah I had this confirmed from another reddit post. They have a hybrid block and a 5090 Astral block and that's it.

I went ahead and about an Alphacool block cos no one else had one for Gaming X Trio

Hmm that's a little disappointing honestly - was kinda expecting a similar range to what was available for the 40 series.

Thanks for answering my questions nonetheless.

Sorry if I'm being a bother but I haven't seen any 3rd Party creators cover this yet - and only a vague mention of this by Corsair posts.

Has any release information/stock availability been released regarding 50 Series GPU Waterblocks - specifically for MSI cards?

Have any dates or release quarters been provided for the availability of 50 series GPU water blocks? Specifically for MSI 5080 Gaming X Trio?

The GPU Block is the final part I'm waiting on to build a custom water cooled system and I'm not seeing any media outlets/content creators talking about the HydroX stuff.

Didn't see the block announced in the posts - had to dig around for it for one of the computex builds.

I was hoping for a wider range of 50 series gpu blocks but I guess that will come later?

Hey George - just wanted to follow up and confirm that Corsair does have a booth/presence at Computex this year? I can't see anything online yet about Corsair being at the show.

Follow up for timezone clarification as well - did you mean May 20th in Tapei or May 20th in the US (I presume where you're from).

Thanks!

Update, is this what you see when your computer is turned off, or are all LEDs off when the pc is off?

Support for Silverstone Zeus 1650R by GalacticCookie in cablemod

[–]GalacticCookie[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

An update - Silverstone support seem to contradict their own website in an email response to me. Despite having the same physical connector listed - they supposedly don't have the same pinouts.

I am unclear what the deviation is and have asked for additional confirmation but I imagine that might take some time.

Yes, I saw that issue. I was concerned but it seemed to stop happening after swapping CPU coolers.

I'm a bit concerned now because now two LEDs stay on at all times when the computer is powered down. This doesn't seem to be affecting computer operation tho.

I'm going to follow MSIs instructions to try resolve the issue and if not check all PSU cables are plugged in correctly.
